PFF grades vs Lions (Bryce in bottom 5 yet again)

Let's be honest if he were getting positive grades from PFF they would be getting posted in just about every thread about him. Every fanbase hates PFF when their team sucks.

I actually feel it's the opposite. Positives generally get ignored. Everyone here loves to wallow in misery.

They are always debatable and some of their numbers looked cooked at times. It's usually a 'how close does this come to what I saw' conversation or debate.

I get not loving PFF but it is what is out there so it's used either way. I wouldn't take any of it as undisputable.

I think PFF is generally useful for more abstract positions that are harder to evaluate on a snap by snap basis.  So how well individual o-linemen did in the run + pass game, how CBs held up in coverage when the ball wasn't thrown to their receiver, how well WRs ran their routes and created separation when they weren't the target, how well DEs set the edge on run plays, etc.

But I don't think anyone relies on PFF to tell them how a QB looked when they handle the ball on every single snap and are the focal point of the offense.  It'll be pretty obvious whether a QB had a good or bad game.

you trying to dunk on a 62?  pick your battles homie

Or the fact that he said Bryce has been living in the bottom 5. That wasn’t true then and damn sure not true of last week. Ask yourself why some here are such in a rush to post negative poo about “OUR” QB, but hide when the narrative doesn’t fit.

    • Yeah and he succeeded at an even higher level in LA with an even better surrounding cast. Goff is a guy that isn't really able to dramatically elevate players around him but he can make a good situation even better. He is capable of that. Some QB's aren't. I am not sure Dak is able to do that and he is in a similar "class" as Goff, IMO.
    • i think i could handle that for a year. beyond that....i don't know.  back where we lived, when we had a few inches of snow, it might have been a couple feet because we weren't getting out and doing anything. i remember times where power would go out for days on end. we had propane and electric heat, depending on the floor. basement (had a couple bedrooms and a living room and kitchen down there) and main floor had gas logs. main floor gas logs was enough to take care of the upstairs, so we could stay warm and cook on the grill when we needed. we had a well so that was always an issue when the power went out. had to make sure tubs were filled with water for the toilets and we had gallons of water for drinking and cooking available. always had to make sure we were ready. that wasn't always the case. we had a couple moments where we were going through propane quickly and because we were dealing with the worst propane company in the world (amerigas) they wouldn't get out to put gas in our 900 gallon tank. made for some nerve racking moments.  i know y'all were probably a lot more able to handle that kind of thing, but after the little bit (comparatively) that we got here i just have no desire to get trapped again. maybe for a day or two a year get snowed in and i'm good.
    • I think he is just drawing a DC to them line and that's about as far as his thought process went. It makes almost no sense outside of that. Also, it doesn't make sense for Pittsburgh or Seattle at this juncture either.  I think our "veteran" pool is basically gonna be the Dalton/Flacco tier or the "pick your poison" options of young busts(Jones/Z. Wilson) or wild, TO prone gunslingers(Darnold/Winston/etc). We have the option to pursue I genuinely believe(depending on the way the rest of this season goes), we either draft a QB in the top 10 or resign Dalton. Outlier third option on taking one of the wild gunslingers that Dave feels like he can work with.
