Crossman's firing has probably ended our hope

top dawg

That argument is crap. Crossman got fired because he sucked. If Fox were trying to save his job he would be turning over other guys. Fox's mantra has been we win on defense, special teams, running the ball and an offense that doesn't lose the game. We had the defense and running game this year and Moore stopped the turnovers. The only piece to fix to put us back in the playoffs was special teams and we are fixing that. Fox was going to be here with or without Crossman. Stop trying to make Crossman to be a martyr. He sucked and needed cutting. This is a good day in the neighborhood. Enjoy it.

TD probably figures it's all been said before.

Why say it again.

The camps that want Fox fired and the camps that don't, aren't going to change their minds.

I've said it before, sooner or later, there won't be anyone left to fire or blame...changes in O-Coord; D-Coord, now this. Crossman deserved to go without doubt. I just find it funny that he doesn't go until after Fox's supposed meeting with JR on Monday.

Yeah it makes no sense at all to speak with the boss and agree on a strategy for next year before going out and making changes.

I never said that Fox fired Crossman to save his job. My main point is that it is ironic that Crossman lost his job, but John Fox still survives (thanks to the Big Cat, among a few others). I was hoping---even in the midst of all the reports to the contrary---that Fox would still be given the guillotine. Crossman's dismissal (minus Fox) has done away with all my foolish notions.

Yes, I am pleased that Crossman was shown the door, but I'd have been ecstatic if the Fox had been run out of the hen house by a Big Cat, first and foremost.

Seems to me, a head coach could make that decision on his own.

Along with sitting a QB who throws 18 interceptions......

oh yeah, the QB had to break a knuckle for that to happen.

It isn't ironic. Crossman lost his job because he sucked and his teams finished at the bottom consistently. If Fox had been as bad as Crossman since 2005 he would be gone already. Fox has had some great seasons along with average ones. If Crossman had never finished below 19th out of 32 teams and as high as top 5 as Fox has, he would likely still be here.

If Fox were the ultimate decision maker and Richardson was a hands off owner as many people erroneously think, that may be true. But this is just another example of how Richardson is involved in every aspect of the team and has the last word. Again who says that Richardson didn't have a say in that decision as well. That's right, then you couldn't blame Fox for everything then. Got it!!

Maybe Fox was forced to fire his buddy as one more attempt to gently nudge him to another team?

That might be true if there was a reason to keep him and Richardson wanted to piss Fox off, but it was clear that Crossman has had multiple chances and just ran of them. Plus with Fox on the hotseat, Crossman had to go.

So wait. Up until today everyone was angry at Fox for being too loyal and not firing Crossman.

Now he's fired, and we're saying that he was just a scapegoat?

Come on, guys :nonod:

I've been as critical of Fox as anyone, but it's not like every single move he makes is wrong. Crossman stunk at his job. He deserved to be fired, and long before now.

Can we at least be positive about something that needed to happen finally happening?

(sheesh) :sosp:
