Crossman's firing has probably ended our hope

top dawg

Danny Crossman deserved to be fired, because our special teams just weren't where they needed to be, but the guy is like the sacrificial lamb for a season gone awry that was mainly the responsibility of John Fox. He is the shark chum that has been thrown in the teal ocean of Panther land that is being manipulated in order to keep those of us who have been calling for the John Fox's head half-way satisfied. He is the bone that they threw out the back door to all us fans who are awaiting eagerly for scraps of Fox's flesh.

Don't get me wrong: the ugly reality that is another season of Foxball filled the air, even before the bad taste in our mouths of last season have had a chance to dissipate, but many of us were still hoping beyond hope that J-Rich would come to his senses and declare "Contract, Be Damned!" We were still hoping beyond hope that a new Cowher, err hour, would come, and the era of the roller coaster seasons would cease, but Crossman's firing has ended that pipe dream and has given us cold clarity.

Now we are left to wonder whether or not 2010 will be Fox's swan song, or will it be his ticket to a few more years of Foxball, and our ticket to an IMAX version of the Fox-Delhomme roller coaster ride, complete with the 3D glasses.

i thought god was omniscient

probably should have seen all the front page threads about this

damn right. this thread adds nothing to the already ongoing crossman discussion of the crossman thread. "I AM NADA" should have just posted in there.

posters like this are turning the place into a dump where you have to wade through pages of threads to find a single good one.

You're saying Fox fired Crossman to save his job?

lol this argument kinda made sense when Trgo didn't come back and before that when Henning was fired, but this is a ST coach, lol. Nobody saves their ass by firing a special teams coach.

Also, where's the part where you argue why Fox should be fired? You make it seem as if everyone on the board already agrees with you.

TD probably figures it's all been said before.

Why say it again.

The camps that want Fox fired and the camps that don't, aren't going to change their minds.

I've said it before, sooner or later, there won't be anyone left to fire or blame...changes in O-Coord; D-Coord, now this. Crossman deserved to go without doubt. I just find it funny that he doesn't go until after Fox's supposed meeting with JR on Monday.

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
