the same peter king thats wants us to trade williams or stewart for a first rounder....

If we could trade Jonathan Stewart for a first round draft pick and get a receiver like Dez Bryant I would do it in a heartbeat.

RBs career life is very short, injuries mount up, and when it is all said and done offensive line play has about as much to do with RB success than the RBs themselves. We aren't going to be able to resign Deangelo AND Stewart in the future so why not get something while we can for one of them?

Deangelo has less injury worries than Stewart and at his current rate of carries is going to be one of the best in the league for the next 5 years. We can substitute Stewart's carries with a Tyrell Sutton and Mike Goodson. Trading RBs for players that can be of value to you for the next decade is the SMART business decision. Not many teams have two guys capable of putting up 1500 yards in the first place. We have TWO of them...not to mention we have a ridiculous lack of depth at WR.

Get a guy like Dez Bryant on our team and it will make a huge impact in the future. Lets face it...we aren't a preseason superbowl contender next year with our question marks at QB. Why not try to drastically upgrade a position when it won't cost us downgrading at another position???

Its not like Deangelo is on the doorstep of retirement...the guy JUST busted out last year and is one of the best in the game. I don't want to do what the Chargers did and get NOTHING for one of the best young runners in the game. Trade Stewart now and get something for him rather than get caught either dumping a ton of money into a backfield OR letting one of them go for nothing.

Took the words right out of my mouth. RB's that can be productive in a 2 back system (especially when one of those backs could be MVP on his own) can be found easily in the late rounds. I'm not saying your going to find another back as physically talented as Stewart in the late rounds but a productive player none the less.

Legarrette Blount, who just so happens attend the same school as Stewart went to (Oregon Ducks) he also is one hell of a good powerback with deceptive speed. I see him as a more powerful slightly slower runner then Stewart but were he stands above is his size 6'2" 240 lbs. Thats a bruiser. He has character issue (see the punch seen round the world) but in the later rounds its worth the risk.

I really like Sutton and could see him potential becoming the #2 in our 2 back system. But I really think the perfect fit would be a true power back that can wear down defenses would make Dwill really shine.

i see ur logic but its a gamble, trading a sure fire starter for the chance to get a stud at wr is a crap shoot.u could end up with the next andre johnson or the next charles rodgers.

Jake Delhomme being a statue skews those stats. I would be curious as to how many sacks Otah gave up once Moore entered the season. Moore was only sacked 8 times in 5 starts behind the same offensive line that saw Delhomme sacked 23 times in 11 games.

They watch all of the players in several games. The article was written in very end of November. At that point Otah had given up 25 pressures and four sacks. They go on to say he has really struggled in passing while doing pretty decent in running.

Why his individual chart says 20, but he's given up 25

Not quite the same. Otah only played two of the five games in which Moore started.

Hopefully Smitty could take Blount under his wing.

Well if Peter King says he's playing like an All-pro...he just got injured, thanks Pete! How about predicting Jake will start in 2010 and be a Pro Bowler, then I can count on Moore starting. Just don't say anything about our playoff or Superbowl chances in 2010... unless it's in a negative way, then we are assured a championship!
