I am scared to see the heating bill for this past month.

The heat has pretty much been running non-stop for 2 weeks. I even have a programmable thermostat.

I keep the temp on

5am-8am 66

8am-4pm 61

4pm-11pm 66

11pm-5am 65

I am with you there. Our december bill was $85 or so, our house is sealed up pretty well.

Bracing myself for a $200 January bill.

I don't know what everyone else typically pays.

Yeah, me too... I don't have a programmable one so we've been keeping it on about 66 all the time... just wearing sweatpants and shirt around the house... it still runs constantly though.

I'm on gas heat (also stove, fireplace, etc.) and my bill was $135 last month. I am anticipating it to be $200+ this month. It's only around $20/month in the summer though.

I'm expecting to shat a brick when I see my gas bill. Mines about $20 in the summer too, and half of that is the "facility fee" which I've never really understood.

Well below the norm. I payed $80 last month.

After I bought the house, and called the electric company, they told me that the previous owners bills in dec.-feb. bills averaged b/w 350-500! I went to Lowes and bought a programmable thermostat that same day! My wife also complains about how cold it is in the house.

My heating bills in dilworth were outrageous for this very reason.

Our house is about 4500 sf and we have separate units for upstairs and downstairs. We keep the thermostats on 65-66 degrees but the units seem to run constantly at night.

Our December bill was $250; I am not looking forward to seeing this months!!

They say if you have a 2000 sq ft house, with average insulation, windows, etc..and keep your thermostat at 68, it'll raise your bill $10 per day..and thats here in Orlando!

I kept mine on 70...probably gonna have to sell a kid to pay mine.
