but we didnt....so that shouldnt work in jakes favor. that like stating if vick didnt go to jail he would have won nfl mvp. vicks whole career has been average. never throwing more picks than touchdowns. so as unspectacular as vick has been...he's never been as bad as jake has been. being bad loses u alot more games than being average.

Bad analogy, Jake was clearly the Panthers MVP of SB 38 - so if we had scored a few more points we'd be talking about a former SB MVP vs. a guy that had some success, but never reached the level of an elite QB.

If both their careers ended today, I think Jake's best was better than Vick's best. As for what will happen in the future? I don't know - all I know is what has happened up till now and IMO Jake was better.

As of right now, I would take Vick simply because I'm not sure Jake has anything left and the jury is still out on Vick - but if nothing else Vick can get himself out of trouble with his feet.

jakes career up until now is BETTER. but u d be a fool to think at 35,he s going to end up starting again. what ur making known in ur comment is all im making clear VICK STILL HAS TIME. thats all period. he isnt not better than manning, brees,or even rivers for that matter. but for what its worth i think hes a better qb RIGHT NOW,and while delhommes number are superior to vick, vick still has atleast 4-5 season left before hes as old and been around as long as jake and can surpass him.

Guest Jake Delhomme 17

vick never led his team to a superbowl Jake has so the answer is jake plus jake a nice guy who stays out of trouble vick is a punk who killed dogs.

i keep seeing vick is dumb, dumb dumb, to dumb to be a qb. but is that all that makes a good qb? granted vick scored a 20 on his wonderlic which is average,i dont think average is dumb. the qb position is prob about 60% mental,40%other. while its huge to be smart i think u can make it with out being manning like. highest qb wonderlic score goes to fitzpatrick a harvard grad with a 48. if it was all whats between ur head he'd be drew brees or manning. so lets be fair and let it be known qb is a combination of brains and skill.

So now you want to defend vick by minimizing the importance of intelligence.

Wow

You know, I normally hate to be harsh, but I'm just going to be honest here.

Like most Vick worshippers, you see all the running highlights and think "he's great" but you can't wrap your mind around the fact that he has limitations that hinder him from being a big game quarterback.

Looking back at this thread, your points continually fall flat, you've gone to some ridiculous stretches in logic, and you come off sounding like a 15 year old who doesn't have the ammo to hang in an adult discussion. I've tried (patiently) to explain some concepts to you, but i really don't think you're getting it. All you want to do is find some way to make Vick sound better than he actually is, when the truth is that he's just not a great quarterback. Athlete? Sure. Quarterback? Not even close.

Bottom Line: You started this thread to prove something, but the only things you've proven is that you're a Vick worshipper that won't look at the facts and that your football knowledge - especially when it comes to the quarterback position - is severely lacking. So either you're a kid, a Falcon troll, or you really just don't get it, and probably never will.

Again, hate to sound harsh, but that's just how it is.

What. You're defending him now?

Make up your mind rayzor. Please.

He's having a problem (1) defining exactly what he's trying to argue about because he just keeps arguing no matter what is said and (2) doesn't seem to realize that a player's actions in his life affect his career on the football field and always will.

no....what i was saying is how would you know if the OP was confused?

i'm not sure you (or anyone) could tell a difference.

on second thought i cant let that slide. were talking about nfl qb intelligence. that has nothing to do with me. as far as u know i could be a sales person or a college professor. thus proving a again u sir are nothing but a h.a.t.e.r.
probably pretty safe to assume you aren't a college professor.

as far as u know i could be a sales person or a college professor.
this makes me laugh a little for some reason.

Right, like people would have called you a fool if you told them Kurt Warner was going to lead another team to the SB after he lost his starting job to Eli Manning...

If Jake never plays in another game, Vick has a long way to go to measure up. I'm not saying Vick can't or won't... but he's got some catching up to do.

It should be noted that many times, when Vick was making those highlight reel scrambles he was doing so because he failed to go through his progressions and identify wide open receivers.

All that scrambling was "sexy" but at the end of the day it didn't get the Falcons very far. If you contained Vick (no easy task) and limited his ability to scramble, you shut down the Falcons offense because Vick wasn't capable of beating you with his arm.

He was becoming a more disciplined QB when the dog fighting thing hit, it remains to be seen if he can pick up where he left off and continue to develop into a more complete QB. McNabb is the perfect mentor for Vick, he's what Vick needs to evolve into: a guy that can read his progressions and if nobody is open or the play breaks down, can go get a first down himself.

if u read the thread so well u d see i started it with one question, who d have a better career when both were finished. period. u see that i go off into other areas because im not arguing with just one person. most of u dislike vick and bring up diffrent points about him ranging from his character to him being dumb,i just entertain the diffrent topics and counter their statement with another. its impossible to argue on one topic when the mob of u want to bring up other things about him...

100% agree. i dont think he's been a great passer at all. most of the statistics used to measure a qb is geared towards pocket passers. i think mobile qb's cant be measured on the same scale in a fair manner. while u do get a lower completion percentage ect, thats just one part of their game,it should be a stat to measure successful scrambles for first downs on 3 or something similar. if u looked at vinces numbers u d think he was a complete failure to but his "winning games percentage" is in the upper part of the league.
