QB Controversy in Philly?

Mr. Scot

Well, I think they have something in Kolb but McNabb is still way capable of winning. Its funny that its somewhat similar to the Schaub/Vick thing in ATL. People knew Schaub was great but Vick was capable of being their QB in their NFC Championship run. Another funny thing: Vick is in Philly.

Philly is now saying thatt hey plan to hold on to both McNabb and Kolb. Apparently only Vick is expendable.

Whoops....accidently hit this new "groan" button (what the h*ll is that?) by accident instead of reply. For the record, I don't think your post sucks.....other ones maybe, but not this one. ;)

It still wouldn't suprise me if McNabb is moved though, I am sure if the right price came along they would take it. Wouldn't surprise me if they keep both either.

The fact that they said they plan on keeping both doesn't mean much if you ask me. Of course they won't say that they are thinking about moving McNabb only to not be able to work out a deal and then have him still on the team in 2010.

I do think the most probable scenario is Mcnabb and Kold stay, Vick goes, but any combination of that scenario honestly wouldn't surprise me.

JR,

Do you think it would be in their best interest to let McNabb go for a high enough draft pick?

I hesitantly say yes because I can't see McNabb being an Eagle after this season, and I don't think a McNabb led Eagles team will win the Superbowl so why not get something for him while we can. Not a knock on McNabb directly but the combination of him, Reid, and the Eagles just is not a championship formula. They have had their chances but it hasn't, and won't happen.

I want to see what Mcnabb can do with another team (a good team) while he has something left in the tank. As far as the Eagles, I don't know if Kolb is the answer but the Mcnabbless Eagles is inevitable so why not start now. I just think it is time for a change all around, but I am also well aware that the grass may not be greener on the other side.

McNabb leaving Philly is one of those annual stories that gets run and re-run every year but never happens.

So true, which is why you have to take all the rumors as just that. Truth be told no one knows, I don't think the Eagles know what they are going to do at this point. Kolb goes, McNabb goes, Vick goes, no one goes, who knows........I can't help but to think that McNabb is the starting QB next year again though, which I would be fine with.

*Edit* An interesting sidenote to all this, it is being reported in Philly (Howard Eskin) that behind the scenes the young guys and many of the veterans have told him they are ready for Kolb to take the field. Seems Kolb has a great relationship with the rookies and many veterans just want a change. Eskin is a bit of an a$$ but he definitely has the inside scoop and the players (and Reid) do talk to him "off the record"). Kolb did an on air interview with him yesterday that I have yet to listen to.
