This doesn't really make sense to me. It may be because it's not easy for USC to walk through the Pac-10 anymore, but it's not any easier to win in the NFL. He gets virtually any recruit in the state of California.

ESPN is reporting that the Carroll deal is done...they are putting the finishing touches on making him the HC and team president. That is a pretty damn big promotion from being a college HC.

Personally, I don't see it working out for them. I feel like giving him the full reign of power as they have is a bit much...there are better options out there IMO for HC AND Team President.

Being an SC fan and knowing Pete's desire to have final say in the program if true this could be an absolute deal breaker.

If he truly wont get full control I don't think he goes, hes just got too much of an Ego to take any less then that. It's always been the thing he coveted and everyone knew if he ever went back to the NFL it would take getting full control. I could be wrong though.

Did you not read either one of the articles I posted, ESPN jumps the gun on EVERYTHING, Seattle wont give full control of the team over to PC, like I said, personally, I think this ends up being the deal breaker.

According to this its 500K a year less then the original offer as well as only head coach position........

Also according to the previous article I posted Carroll has till Monday to decide what he wants to do.

Hawks CEO to fly to LA to meet with Carroll tomorrow or Monday, not sure I agree with the whole article our recruiting season certainly isn't in "shambles" and I think Carroll would be welcomed back if talks were to sour.
