Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times reports that Pete Carroll and the Seahawks are "close to a deal" that would pay Carroll $35 million over the next five seasons to be Seattle's coach and team president.

they may already be out there. Seattle is a very attractive job. They need a QB. Hasselbeck is good, but the past few seasons he has fallen apart.
