Sounds like to me Pep disliked Jake, and is happy with Moore

Proof? Cheering on him doesn't mean he like Moore over Jake or that he dislike Jake. He's just happy they're playing good. Beside, he smile or look happy even when we were losing as well. Does that mean anything there? Does Pep cheering on Rosario last year after he got the TD catch against the Chargers mean he like him more than King & Barnidge? :P

Anyway on topic, I hope Pep fire his agent & get a smarter one that will keep him here.

He doesn't need to prove anything as he is just stating an opinion. If he were to say Peppers WILL be back then that would be another story.

read it again, and i'm not seeing what the few of you are.

The key word, to me, is currently.

There are currently no issues. Should the Panthers tag him again, I think some of the issues of last year might arise.

I hope I'm wrong, and that we work a long-term deal out with Peppers. I just have a feeling he's trying to leave as amicably as possible, given what happened last season.

Tag and trade, simple. It is the smartest, most logical thing to do in this situation. Peppers looks at it from a business perspective and so should the Panthers. This way we get compensated heavily for him. Only drawback is if he is not taken but an uncapped season is going to be just about the best chance they'll have.

Take your loyalty away from Peppers and put it into the Panthers and you will see that signing a 30 year old DT who takes plays off a 'haynesworth-type deal' will ultimately hurt the team in the fact the money could be used elsewhere. If he wants to talk about a reasonable deal then by all means...

I think the problem is other teams in the league that may be interested, may not be interested at what it will cost them to get Pep

In 8 days he will be 30. Just sayin......

If we tag him again, and nobody bites(just as they didn't last year), then we are on the hook for 20+ million for 1 year for Pep, and we can't tag him again if I'm not mistaken.

If we do tag him, and any team takes the bait, we best let him walk if we can get anything decent at all.

Because he is 30 is why you may want to tag instead of give him a contract for 30 million guaranteed or more. He probably has only 2 or 3 years left.

And you can tag him as many times as you want unless they change the CBA in 2010. Can't see doing past this year though. By next year Brown Johnson et al should be okay without him. Weren't you advocating lettting him go without compensation last year?

You have me confused with someone else. I do however recall advocating that if he didn't want to be here, then the FO should get what they could get, do whatever had to be done, and let his ass walk.

Considering he would never sign the tender, nothing could be done, except not tag him, and let him walk away with us getting nothing. I don't think most knew he wouldn't sign the tender, which would have allowed the trade. Thus no teams showing any serious interest as well. Can't say I blame them.

I never said just cut him loose with no compensation.

Why would you think that Pep only has two or three good years left? Others have played until their mid thirties at a high level. I think that your'e sipping on the Hatorade to mask your your underlying distaste for Pep.
