Agent: Peppers waiting for Panthers' move

I dont think it has to do with anything other then he is happy with what Meeks is using him for. IMO I would have been pissed last year too when I am one of the best Pass Rushers and Im dropping back in coverage 50% of the time.

It seems from what I read that Peppers likes the rotation and feels we have the talent on the D line for the future. I gathered his biggest beef in 2008 was that teams doubled teamed him and no one else could get pressure. As much as people complain about signing Everette Brown last year and losing the draft pick, that move may help us sign Peppers longterm. He said earlier in the year that this was the best rotation he has every played in which is high praise given he was here when Rucker, Buckner, and Jenkins were in their prime.

Maybe if Peppers chooses to finish his career with the Panthers, he will play like there is no next year because for him they are running out. Coupled with the position our team is in talent-wise, I would think the next 2-3 years will be his best and our best chance at a SB run.

what about a CB. Nnamdi Asumough(sp)

wasn't he signed for 3yrs/~45 mil

Yea I bet every Owner in the League would love to slap the poo out of Al Davis when that happened too. Davis is off his rocker and he keeps making it more costly to keep players with his outrageous contracts he gives people.

Still thats prob what Pep would want. Ether that or more then Allen.

if Peppers stays I'd expect Everette Brown to have at least 10 sacks..just a hunch..

If he can bulk up....... He is way undersized right now. He needs to be able to use the bull rush move so he is not so predictable in his rush.

you think they'd like to put Jerry Jones(all those picks for Roy Williams) and Dan Snyder(Haynesworth) in line with Al, and make it a stooges like slap fest?

Sounds to me like Peppers is trying to play nice and not get the franshise tag.

Now that I have time to look back I think everything that went down last year and the final result was in fact what Peppers wanted. I think he wanted to be tagged, make 17 million, and then be a free agent this year, the uncapped year. Now, I don't think he really cares what happens as long as he get the best deal possible. And really, I don't blame him.

Conspiracy theory one...

I smell a 4-5 year contract with 12 million the first year...

Yas is speculatign that we will NOT try to offer him a lucrative long-term deal given the uncertainty with the labor relations....potential lockout in 2011. He predicts we will franchise him in Feb and try to trade him.

Tying up alot of guaranteed money for a player of his age...with speculation that year 2 may not even be played...might be too much.

If we can't trade him, it may be better financially to have him play out next year uncapped for $20M and then let him walk.

Interesting thought...only time will tell how this plays out.
