Peppers' agent, Carl Carey, told the Observer this morning that Peppers is waiting for the Panthers to announce how they plan to handle his potential free agency before saying anything about his wishes, but Carey reiterated that Peppers' concerns from last season "don't currently exist."

Sounds to me like Peppers is trying to play nice and not get the franshise tag.

Now that I have time to look back I think everything that went down last year and the final result was in fact what Peppers wanted. I think he wanted to be tagged, make 17 million, and then be a free agent this year, the uncapped year. Now, I don't think he really cares what happens as long as he get the best deal possible. And really, I don't blame him.

That's exactly what I think.

He knows he shot himself in the foot last year with his criticism of the Panthers and his four "mystery teams," and Hurney made him pay for it (by paying him, of course).

Now Peppers is just trying to be as cordial as possible to get the best deal he can -- and I don't think that's with the Panthers.

I think Peppers realized he made a mistake last year by making his discontent with our team public. His discontent made Peppers value drop for the Carolina Panthers, thus we could not trade him for the price we wanted. So I bet we essentially told him "act like you want to be here"... so that is what he is doing, so we have more leverage in talking to other teams for draft picks.

Exactamundo!!!!! The longer this plays out, it has become clear that this was never really about Peppers wanting to leaving Carolina. It appears Peppers was alot smarter than most of us thought.
