So who is renewing their season seats

Again, the majority of my immediate section is cool, but for some: yelling, i.e. "That's a horrible call ref" or standing (not me, those below the rotating seats), non-vulgar cuss words like "what in the hell call was that Davidson" or ribbing opposing guests --some think a fight may break out.

Before I got my PSLs, some sections I sat in were a lot worse than others. Club seats are horrible for true fans, from my experience. It seems on a yearly basis now...organizationally--not necessarily the fans themselves, are getting more strict about stuff like that. I can handle my own with a whiney "fan", not a problem, but now all they have to do is text security and you can be ejected from the game is total BS.

Yes, all someone has to do is text security and you can be tossed from the game. Who will security believe you or the person texting them? Richardson has the stadium announce at the start of each game in a LONG drawn-out announcement about this and in the corner displays, the security text message and number is up all game long. Basically it says " Are you annoyed by someone? Text security at ---------.

From what I have seen the text alerts security who comes to the section to observe. Unless they actually see the behavior or it was the result of a fight and a guy is bleeding etc, they don't take action. I have had plenty of stadium personnel cruise my section but I have yet to see anyone escorted out.

I'm not sure that Goodell can or would tell owners how to run thier stadiums, namely what announcements and behavioral policies to enact. If so, Philly fans would boycott such policies.

The Panthers have always had the most strict policies for any home statdium stemming all the way back from the opening of BOA (Ericcsson then) about the shirt policy.

Goodell is trying to family-ize everything from what I heard. Here, this is what I was looking for:

As has much been discussed, during the past offseason the NFL instructed each of its teams to create fan codes of conduct, in an effort to reduce some of the in-stadium crassness that received so much publicity last year. My colleague Mark Maske wrote about the new policies in Sunday's paper:

The National Football League, with annual revenue approaching $8 billion, has become the most popular professional sports league in the country in part because of the zealousness of its young-adult male fans, many of whom spend hours before games tailgating and drinking before going inside stadiums to be loud and boisterous. This season, however, the NFL is asking itself whether the rowdiness has gone too far and is alienating other fans.

At the behest of Commissioner Roger Goodell, all 32 teams have announced a fan conduct policy in an attempt to make their stadiums more fan-friendly.Goodell said he believes fans should be able to watch without being subjected to abusive language, obscene gestures and other forms of rude behavior.

Sections are big, but the majority of folks immediately around me are cool. A couple of rows down a PSL owner sells his/her seats every week and it seems that there's always kids there. As soon as you get loud or say even a "clean" cuss word like damn (I never drop the f-bomb) people give you the evil-eye.

What I meant by other sections is, I wasn't always a PSL holder and I have sat all over that stadium and mostly people heckle you for standing, being loud or ribbing opposing fans--yes Panthers "fans".

This whole thing about being lectured via the big screen by the Cheif of Police and a bunch of kids about how to appropriately watch the game is absurd. Texting security crossed the line with me. If someone is being that big of a neusance, then they can go get security. I feel that it is too easy to call secuirty on people trying to have fun because some scrooge thinks you are being overly loud or some kid thinks it would be neat to call security someone.

No it hasn't happened to me (yet), but I could see how a REAL fan might be getting into a tight game and then being "tattled" on for someone that should be watching the game at home (they wouldn't be bothered at home).

The first time I ever saw anything about texting security about bad fan behavior was at Soldier Field at our playoff game a while back ... we are not the only or the first NFL team to try to help people actually have a good experience at a game. Nobody should have to be subjected to verbal or physical assaults -- which I have been in our own stadium -- at a football game in the name of "fan excitement."

Those are the only instances I've seen of fans being called down or ejected, and I've been to every single home game ever. And yes, I've sat in a number of locations, including Club Seats. My PSLs are in the lower bowl. We have a great section.

I have seen people escorted out this year. The next section over form me is the "away team" section and a few times this year I have seen people escourted out. Granted I didn't see their behavior first-hand, though I didn't attend but half the games this year due to work conflict and the frquency of people getting tossed was higher. I don't think that is coincidence.

Also, if you do have security called on you and even if you don't get tossed, you basically will be watched minding your P's and Q's for the duration.

Sorry, I think it is a STUPID policy. Again, if someone finds themselves SO annoyed with another fan, they can actually walk down to the tunnel and tell security for themselves. The texting thing just makes it too easy for a kid or an adult with a burr in their rear to contact security.

Exactly -- you didn't see their behavior, so you don't know the circumstances.

Again, we are not the only stadium with that policy.

Thanks! Even so, I wonder if Goodell mandates how often or what medium the message is conveyed. Heck, maybe put it in the back of the programs.

My whole point was, compared to year's past, I feel like I can't enjoy the game the way I would like because all I have to do is tick off just ONE person who isn't even a PSL holder (because I know the ones immediately around me), and I could be tossed and jeopordize my PSL license.

Sorry about your predicament, but my point is security is no more than a tunnel away anywhere in the stadium. Truely annoyed fans can get security by contacting them in person, that's how it was done up until this year. I think the texting thing just makes it too convenient to get security involved in non-serious issues.

The real issue doesn't seem to be texting security then, merely the rules.

I see your point about how to keep security out of it though. Should just complain about the rules though...

Dress up as security and walk around the area when they come looking for you. ;)

The frequency of people being tossed this year is higher though in my experience; I don't think that is a coincidence.

I'm sorry but people that against standing, yelling, fans ribbing one another (non-violently) and all cussing (agreed the F-bomb is obscene) needs to watch the game from the comfort, quiet and sterility of their own home while remaining seated.

I'm not addressing you PL, just people who think like this. This is football and I just get the feeling, apparently the NFL, wants opera goers in the stands.

I believe i've read that fan conduct is a concern of the league, all teams, one of the reasons that a lot of teams are limited the time spent drinking, ahhh tail-gating before the game, is people showing up already drunk and causing problems.

Knee jerk reaction.

Just like, I'm in club level, can't get 'doubles' anymore, only singles.

The first time someone, god forbide, gets in a fatality drinking and driving leaving a game or a tailgate, it will be over altogether.

From what I've seen with security, there was one absolute episode of over-reaction; based on a complaint by someone who complained to security, one person in our section. The rest of what I've seen have been really drunk people doing really obnoxious things...both Panther fans and opposing team fans.
