Do you think the Panthers will move?

I know I'm kinda new here, and maybe I'm too new to be allowed to say this...but why does EVERYTHING gman says sound so douchey? Is there some way to filter the forum so that I don't have to sift through his excrement while I'm reading what intelligent Huddlers have to say? "I think I would know..."

Douche.

Ooooh thats a personal attack. Im telling!

If they move itll probably be to Raleigh. The fans there do a much better job supporting the hurricanes than the fans here do the panthers or bobcats. Charlotte fans are just too laid back and fairweather to support a pro team. I fully expect this to happen when Jerry finally sells the team.

Don't want and doubt this will happen, but I like and agree with the bold.

The Panthers will never leave Charlotte. I don't see Raleigh getting a team, but I do see the Triangle Area getting a baseball team, as long as the stadium isn't too big and they can make sure to draw people from Chapel Hill, Durham, Cary, and Raleigh nightly. But that'd be 10-15 years down the road.

Pittsburgh and Minneapolis have similar in-city populations, but no one bases pro-sports locations on the in-city area populations.

Their Metro areas are over twice to three (almost 4) times the size of Raleigh.

Metropolitan populations from the 2006 to 2009 census data:

Raleigh - 1,088,765

Pittsburg - 2,462,571

Minneapolis - 3,502,891

Ergo, these aren't really valid comparisons.

Yeah, considering that they are the "Carolina Panthers" the stadium is ideally located for fans from NC and SC.

If the Panthers would ever move, they would move to a whole new state.

Yeah. Being from SC, the Panthers are the closest thing we have for any professional sports team since Charlotte is just over the border. If they moved to Raleigh, I wouldn't really consider them the "Carolina" Panthers.

And your point? There are only 8 NFL home games a year and by the time hockey season starts there would probably only be about 5 or 6 home games left. How in the world would they interfere with each other especially when the canes rarely play on sundays? The trinangle could very easily support both teams. Charlotte doesnt have a huge metropolitan area but they support an NBA and an NFL franchise and both of them play through the same season too.
