Just had an awesome fan experience tonight at Double Trouble's annual "pro bowl" party. Got to spend some quality time with DWill and JStew and there were a ton of players and coaches there including:

Jordan Gross

Maake Kemoatu

Jeff Otah

Ryan Kalil

Geoff Schwartz

Mackenzie Bernardeau

Moose

Hoover

Matt Moore

Gary Barnidge

Richard Marshall

Josh McCown

etc...

I would encourage all huddlers to go to http://www.doubletrouble3428.com and sign up to become a "troublemaker" so you can attend events like this and be eligible for prizes like autographed double trouble cleats and jerseys. Some lucky guy won game worn and autographed double trouble jerseys tonight...

Even the old ball coach himself was there... snapped a few pictures and got a ton of autographs:

What the hell is D Will wearing?

The gimmick of this party was to wear a holloween costume (I didn't get the memo). Nobody knew why they were wearing a costume until well into the party when DeAngelo announced they would be shooting a new intro video for the doubletrouble3428.com site that would be reproducing MJ's "Thriller" video. They even flew a coreographer in from LA to help...

DeAngelo and Stew also gave gifts to Coach Fox and the offensive linemen that were there. Fox got a Panthers helmet with cup holders on each side, the lineman all got watches except for Kalil who got a quad (4-wheeler thingy) didn't catch the backstory on that but I assume it has something to do with him being the center.

Out of everyone Kemo was easily the friendliest guy, he said he'll be ready to put weight on his leg in about a month, hard to image the guy has been on one leg since August.

    • If we miss out on Graham I think you have to go edge.  I don't think they value is there at wr and also good passes rushers basically only come in the first round.  The drop off in productivity in pass rushers statistically taken after the first round is crazy.
    • I'm not nearly as impressed by the interior DLs in this class as I am with the EDGE class. If we don't take Mason Graham early the only interior DL I like in the 1st/2nd round is Tyleik Williams from Ohio State. Luckily, we're in much better shape at that position than we are at EDGE with Derrick Brown returning next year. Outside of the obvious pick in Abdul Carter, I like Kyle Kennard, Mykel Williams and Jalon Walker in that order. But it seems Kennard is ranked quite a bit lower than the other two. If we're going DL back-to-back I'd LOVE a Mason Graham-Kyle Kennard combo. I'm not sure there's a combo of a 1st round DE + 2nd round DT that makes sense, TBH.
    • Stats don't always tell the story. Stroud has played better than Bryce both years. That is not arguable. Stroud has always had a better supporting cast than Bryce. That really is not arguable either.  Now if you really watched the games last season, you could tell Stroud was in a much better situation with regards to protection, playcalling and receivers. He was throwing to a lot of wide open guys with little to no pressure most times he dropped back. That gives you the confidence to stand in the pocket and trust your receivers when things get dirty. And those receivers were making big plays after the catch. I don't care what pressure statistics you're looking at, but when I watched the games, Bryce was constantly facing pressure with receivers that couldn't beat their men and playcalling that didn't scheme guys open enough. You had to give him a mulligan after that. And that was as a rookie. So Stroud is facing now what Bryce faced as a rookie with regards to pressure. In his second season, he should be better than rookie Bryce. They have weapons to spare over there in comparison to Carolina. Bryce may have benefited from such a tough rookie season, as he seems to thrive under pressure now. Teams are learning that you can't just blitz him any time you want anymore. He's finding the answers and making you pay. Stroud hasn't quite gotten there but he will. He just hasn't faced it to the degree that Bryce has, until recently. They're both good young QBs right now. Different. But good QBs right now.
