Armanti Edwards

He won't be around as an undrafted free agent, trust me on this one. He'll be gone before the fifth round, potentially in the third.

Good call on him being taken in the 3rd round. My biggest gripe is, Marty yet again, cant help himself and gives up future draft picks for a guy who hasnt played WR or fielded a punt since high school. Marty said next years draft is relatively weak, but so is our defensive line. Next year we need someone like Jared Crick or Cameron Hayward to help sure up the DT position, and we wont have a 2nd rounder to do that.

Any App fans-

There is a newly posted video review of 2009 season posted on vimeo. Playoffs start about the 30:00 mark. ACC, SEC & other BCS fans who don't understand the term "playoffs" may be confused by this part of the video.

;-)

So talent isn't the only thing it has in common with High School football

All joking aside, that's an awesome video. I've never seen a Panthers video that well done.

As for Armanti, he's a great athlete, but he also better put on some weight real fast. I'm a little worried about his ability to make it through the season at his size

Steve Smith = 5'9 185

Armanti Edwards = 5'11 182

Steve Smith started out doing nothing but returns too, and he had built up his body a little bit before he became a full time WR. He's about 195 right now.

Armanti Edwards is going to be on the field a lot in his rookie season if he's going to do all the jobs he's training for. I'm not saying that he's not tough or anything, but Steve Smith is in a league of his own in that department. Even that couldn't keep Smitty from missing some games though.

Actually this is not an affirmation of Edwards but suggests a problem. It is generally accepted that for every inch in height increase there is generally a 5-8 LB increase as well to represent a smiliar body build. So that a guy who is 2 inches taller would weigh 10-16 lbs more than a guy 2 inches shorter for them to have an equivalent body frame.

So Edwards at his increased height should weigh 192-198 or so in order to have s simlar build to Smitty.

Just sayin......................................

I am an app grad. that said , i am not drinking the kool-aid with Armanti. I hope he succeeds and proves himself to be a great assett. But this is the NFL, and he has a lot to prove. I think he has potential to be a good player, but time will tell. Id love for him to become the 2nd wide recieving playmaker that we need on this team as well as help with special teams.
