I will openly admit;, if you guys get a good manager (a la Dilfer w/the Ravens) you can do some major damage. Orton would be a great fit for you guys, or Flacco. Non selfish dudes who don't need to chuck it every other down to be happy. Remains to be seen if Moore is that guy.

I agree with you that we are yet to know if Moore is that legit QB.

However, if he played all season like he has the past 4 games we would definitely be in the playoffs and would be a real threat.

But, it did not play out that way and we will never know.

see this is where Jake haters crack me up...he didn't lose that Dallas game. I was able to actually go to that game (was in Dallas at the time) and trust me Jake didn't lose that game. Dallas just out manned you in that 2nd half. You were leading in the 1st half thanks to a beautiful TD pass as I recall from Jake.

A lot of work for nothing. Even peewee coaches and fans know that one or two players aren't responsible for a loss or win. Where is Schwartz or Bernadeau for example. Anyone think that those guys coming in and shoring up the offensive line wasn't a major factor in our wins late in the season.

You win as a team and lose as a team. Trying to cast blame or accolades to one guy or the other is what talking heads and reporters do, not people who actually know football.

My point is we had, in a tough Conference with the 2nd or 3rd ranked Schedule:

1: Top Running Game in NFL

2: Top 10 Defense

3: Steve Smith

I think all we needed was Average QB play and we are in playoffs, and hottest team in NFC. Peaking now, gives as good a shot as anyone in NFC to go to Superbowl, to then probably lose to a Franchise QB: Rivers, Manning or Brady

Also, when Monday QB'ing the Season I think you need to do a DYNAMIC Analysis when inserted "Average QB play" for Jakes performance.

What Jake did dictated alot of other things, which I think Avg QB play would dictated different results. Aside from the points Jake gave the other teams and field position, he also Demoralized the team and in obvious examples(Saints Game) dictated Fox/Davidson's play calling fearing his INT's.

The Defense only gave up 17 points in the philly game, the rest of them were on Jake and the Jackson return. 17 points to the Eagles isn't that bad.

we'd be in playoffs atleast, and who knows, Moore made Jarret look good.

point is, with everything he had to be stupid enough to stick with Jake for so long and not have a backup plan(though now we know Moore was capable), it should be a firing offense. Atleast he's not being rewarded with extension yet, though I think next season is a layup for Fox as long as he gets AVERAGE QB PLAY

I mostly agree with you here but a QB is one player that can lose a game all by himself especially when a coach does nothing about it. Also poor play by the QB seems to rub off on the whole team and a bunch of 3 and outs

No. They didn't. It's a team effort and the defense didn't play well until the latter part of the season. Jake wasn't doing good and his turnovers are what put the Panthers out of the playoffs. However, they wouldn't have made it to the superbowl because no one was making many plays anyway. The players didn't play bad, but they didn't play outstanding. Remember when the offensive line was sucking?
