Quick question

Recommended Posts

There's been a lot of talk all season (at least while he was active) about how Thomas Davis was simply the right player in the right scheme and that was the main reason for his jump in stats.

Now that the seasons over, I'll clutter the board up with this. How does the Tampa-2 system open up the Davis' posistion to make more plays that in some other scheme? I truly don't know and was wondering if another more savvy person would be kind enough to enlighten me.

Cover 2 is great for fast LB's where the front four is relied upon to get pressure on the QB and really funnel RB's to the second level. Davis speed, open field tackling ability and coverage skills make him a good LB in any 4-3 alignment, but Meeks really helped him and Anderson with the system.
