Holmgren taking his time....bet their agent is feeling Foxy out in the meantime.

Holmgren only met briefly with Mangini on Tuesday. Holmgren said he will have "The Meeting" with Mangini on Wednesday and hopes to have a decision made by the end of the week on the coach's future.

Holmgren didn't want to rush Mangini into an important, career-defining meeting so soon after the completion of the season.

Holmgren was asked if Mangini had a realistic chance to stay.

"Absolutely," he said. "Otherwise I wouldn't have set the meeting up. I don't dance too much. I appreciate people that shoot straight. We're going to have a meeting. Maybe a couple of meetings this week."

Keep Fox = $0 due during a work stoppage and most likely a winning playoff season next year.

And a losing season after

Get Cowher = $10 million due during a work stoppage and most likely a winning playoff season next year.

And multiple winning seasons after

Lets tell the entire story based on history!

I think Fox would rather play out the last year of his contract. He has basically assembled the team as he wants it with a few missing pieces. I don't see why he would want to start over with the crappy Browns.

I have to say 2 1st round picks does sound pretty nice. But Hurney has to stay.

Here is why that can be opposed:

He is kinda a hot commodity right now, a few teams would love to talk with him if he were available, and if next season were to be a let down, he knows it will be much more difficult to get a job. Now his hand is a little stronger, he can play the field and the Panthers so this is his year to make the move. If next year is a strong year, he will probably be retained anyway.

Would anyone get excited if Jason Garrett were offered our coaching position?
