Browns targeting Fox, and we could get Picks!

This isn't new, we've all heard, but its developing even further. All rumors. who knows in the NFL

Making the speculation surprising is that Holmgren has never worked with Fox. But they share an agent -- Bob LaMonte -- and LaMonte could be once again trying to play NFL matchmaker, while at the same time getting Fox out of the final year of his contract in Carolina.

But if that's the end game, the Browns should tread lightly. The last time a LaMonte client with a season left on his contract changed teams, the team that got LaMonte's client gave up two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and $8 million.

But the future for Mangini in Cleveland doesn't look bright. Holmgren confirmed that his first interview for GM will be tonight with Philadelphia Eagles General Manager Tom Heckert Jr. There is also increasing speculation that Carolina coach John Fox could switch teams and be Holmgren's top choice as Browns coach.

Fox has one year left on his Carolina contract and his future has been open to speculation because the team has declined to give him an extension.

A league source who knows Holmgren well said he expected Holmgren to choose a defensive-minded head coach and would take a hands-on approach to the offensive staff.

Holmgren, Heckert and Fox all are represented by agent Bob LaMonte.

I think Fox would rather play out the last year of his contract. He has basically assembled the team as he wants it with a few missing pieces. I don't see why he would want to start over with the crappy Browns.

I have to say 2 1st round picks does sound pretty nice. But Hurney has to stay.

No way in hell would Cleveland give up 2 first round picks for John Fox. They are in rebuilding mode, and desperately need all the help they can get from PLAYERS. They have Jerome Harrison and Joshua Cribbs. Those are pretty much the only play makers they have. Massaqua(spelling?) has potential to be a good receiver, but as you can see here in Carolina, you need 2 legitimate receiving threats.

If this happened I would be shocked, but happy because we could select top 5. :D

fug that I would trade down. Then we'd have like 20 picks in the draft.

why give up anything to get Fox???? Why not go for one of the Coaches already on market instead?

Fox is this highly thought of???? Why not just sign Cowher, Gruden, Marty S., etc. or find the next up and coming coach that is a OC/DC right now?
