Carolina Panthers Coach Fox: 'I see myself being back'

Would we have done so with Delhomme at the helm? And that begs the question: would Fox have ever put Moore in had Delhomme not been injured?

I actually think bringing Fox back is probably a good thing -- but I'm just playing Devil's advocate here.

When Jon Beason says, "I don't want to play for anyone else." when asked about possible coaching changes, that makes me want Fox back. I've called for him to get fired like some others here, but the players really like him and the offense did wonders with an at least half way competent QB. What scares me is if Fox leaves, if the new HC brings in his own DC. Plus not having a 1st automatically hurts the new coach. The 1st guy you draft shapes a lot of how your coaching regime will go, ala Fox taking Pep 2nd overall.

If we can put our '08 offense together with our '09 defense, next year could be pretty special to watch. I mean, if double trouble are both healthy, our O-line is back, and Moore gets to play with the 1's through summer school and training camp, that would be great. Plus the already top 10 defense will know what they are doing from week 1 this time, with (hopefully) a healthy Thomas Davis back, and a 2nd year Everette Brown.

Call me an eternal optimist, but we could be right back to an NFC championship game next year. It's all predicated on Fox shaking some of that stubbornness, but it isn't that far fetched.

I am still saying that if Fox leaves then they will promote from within... I.E Meeks, Skipper, or even Maguzu

I haven't seen anything on the NFL Network that corresponds with the caller's reporting. I have seen on the NFL.com where IF John Fox somehow gets out of his contract that the Browns will be the place he will go and it looks as if Holmgren will bring in Zorn and Sherman Smith as assistants.

Lombardi and La Canfora mentioned Fox doesn't want to be a lame duck and is trying hard to get an extension with the team on yesterdays 7pm total access..I think the words absolutely no way were used..
