See this is where you messed up. Look at week 9 @ the Saints and week 11 vs. the Dolphins, there you will find a Quarterback that can NOT thrive in that situation.

Week nine the Saints put up over 400 yards of offense AND forced 3 turnovers from us (only one from Delhomme). The QB in this game also completed 60% of his passes and threw no interceptions. We had 69 offensive plays compared to their 58.

Week eleven we had 69 plays to their 60, yet gave up 24 points including 3 TDs and 326 yards of offense. We did not generate a single turnover, yet giving up just one. Take out D'Wills 50 yard scramble and we were averaging 4.8 yards per scramble but only rushed 27 times. Me thinks this loss is not on the players...

The trend here is that the defense just did not play as well as they were at the end of the season. There were also a distinct lack of turnovers from the QB position, much like with Moore at the helm. We had more plays than both teams, so the 'gassed' theory simply does not hold up. I agree in principle that Moore was an upgrade at QB and thus allowed the running and defensive games to thrive, yet I do not believe he was solely responsible for the wins. Against the Buccs he was merely a placeholder, the Pats he looked very jittery in the pocket and the Saints game was a write off due to their effort AND our gameplan. So in actual fact people are giving him the MVP title based on two wins were everything clicked. Seems a trifle over the top.

Take out Stew against the Vikes and Giants and you think he produces like he did? Or take our defensive leader in Beason and you think the defense gives them breathers? How about removing Peps pressure he generated in both those games?

By the way, your argument about the turnovers is null in void because not all of those turnovers were caused by Beason, and also Jonathan Stewart never rushed for 315 yards in one game. If he did he would be a record holder.

Way to read what you want to read!!! I clearly was commenting on BOTH of Moores multiple TD games, as in the only ones it appeared he was the MVP, yet in both games every single facet was lights out. Whilst Beason did not cause the turnovers, he is the heart beat of the defense and taking him out would have a seriously negative effect.

Because all of those guys were playing while we were still losing. Moore came in and the team started winning. It's not that hard to figure.

"MVP" does not equal "best player", but rather "most valuable player". A guy who came in and acted as a catalyst is easy to put in that role.

And FYI, if you count the fact that Moore only played in a limited number of games this season as a strike against him, explain how you have Sherrod Martin ranked 9th when he saw even less action than Moore :sosp:

Agree or not, there is definitely logic behind it.

Salvaged the season...? As lousy as Jake Delhomme was playing, probably 75 percent of the QBs in the NFL could have saved our season. You can't overlook the solid play of our defense the last month as well, or the emergence of Jonathan Stewart.

Moore was efficient as playing Foxball---I will give him that---but it's not like

anyone would mistake him for a franchise QB at this point (and before someone says that we don't need one, I absolutely do not agree).

I would allow him to compete for first string like all the other questionable talent that we will hopefully bring in here, and if he can show that he can win the job, then more power to him. Until then, he is a slightly above average QB IMHO.
