In my opinion, the defense performed so well towards the end of the season because they were well rested because the QB wasn't turning the ball over every single friggin possession. The defense never looked bad all year people. They were always gassed because they were on the field way too long, and giving the opposition too many looks at the D for the D to thrive.

By Matt Moore not turning the ball over and not forcing the Defense into compromising positions in the last 5 games of the year, he deserves at least SOME credit for what he did.

This is what I wrote in the original post, so here it is again just for you.

Matt Moore, for one reason.

I am not taking anything away from Jon Beason, Steve Smith, Julius Peppers, Jonathan Stewart, or DeAngelo Williams, but all it took was a new Quarterback to get this team winning again. The move showed that a Quarterback is vital to a teams success, you can have the best Running Back combo in the NFL and still have a bad record [Eliminates J-Stew and D-Will]. You can have one of the finest receivers in the NFL, but unless you have a good Quarterback that can get him the ball the receiever isn't worth a dime [Eliminates Steve Smith]. You can have one of the toughest and meanest Linebacker and one of the most fiercest Defensive End in the game, but without a Quarterback that can at least get them more than two minitues of rest, the opposing Quarterback will make that superlative Defensive End and state of the art Linebacker look like Pop Warner players [Eliminates John Beason and Julius Peppers]. Every single player did an amazing job this season however, Matt Moore salvaged this season.

Matt Moore gets my vote for MVP.

Great post! When, and only when, Moore took the reigns did we look like a team this year! Not sure he would, or wouldn't, get my vote but a damn good post non the less!

Matt Moore is second the the huddles 2010 MVP poll?!?!?!?!? Seriously??? We are going to crown the guy that played only 15% of the season? He was our best player in 4 games than other players were the whole season? Come on Huddle... redeem yourself... dont show your ignorance by proclaiming Matt Moore as our second best player of 2010. I would pick the following over Moore

1. Jon Beason

2. Deangello Williams

3. Julius Peppers

4. Steve Smith

5. J-Stew

6. Chris Gamble

7. Jordan Gross

8. Ryan Kalil

9. Sherrod Martin

10. Tyler Brayton

11. Jeff King

12. Charles Johnson

13. Brad Hoover

14. Moose

15. Richard Marshal.... Then MAYBE Matt Moore... over our last 4 games of the season he might be number 2 on that list.... BUT NOT FOR ALL OF 2010!!!

(I feel like I should be on a Coors commercial "If you want to crown em then crown his A**... But he is who we thought he was!)

Lets see if I can explain this so even you can understand,A QB is the cornerstone of and entire franchise,if you can not get good play at that position, you can not win. period. If you need examples look at the 2 teams that went undefeated the longest this year. take away their qbs and you have average teams..at best.

A. Matt Moore has already earned the title as "Good QB"

B. Is this a set in stone rule? Did the bears make the Superbowl with Rex Grossman? Who was the Baltimore Ravens QB when they beat the Giants in the Superbowl?

C. I am not trying to argue that the QB is the most importnat position. I am doubting Matt Moore being our MVP (not best player, but most valuable)... I guess that makes Vince Young the MVP of the Titans over Chris johnson because they started winning after he came along?

Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Because all of those guys were playing while we were still losing. Moore came in and the team started winning. It's not that hard to figure.

"MVP" does not equal "best player", but rather "most valuable player". A guy who came in and acted as a catalyst is easy to put in that role.

And FYI, if you count the fact that Moore only played in a limited number of games this season as a strike against him, explain how you have Sherrod Martin ranked 9th when he saw even less action than Moore :sosp:

Agree or not, there is definitely logic behind it.
