Matt Moore is second the the huddles 2010 MVP poll?!?!?!?!? Seriously??? We are going to crown the guy that played only 15% of the season? He was our best player in 4 games than other players were the whole season? Come on Huddle... redeem yourself... dont show your ignorance by proclaiming Matt Moore as our second best player of 2010. I would pick the following over Moore

1. Jon Beason

2. Deangello Williams

3. Julius Peppers

4. Steve Smith

5. J-Stew

6. Chris Gamble

7. Jordan Gross

8. Ryan Kalil

9. Sherrod Martin

10. Tyler Brayton

11. Jeff King

12. Charles Johnson

13. Brad Hoover

14. Moose

15. Richard Marshal.... Then MAYBE Matt Moore... over our last 4 games of the season he might be number 2 on that list.... BUT NOT FOR ALL OF 2010!!!

(I feel like I should be on a Coors commercial "If you want to crown em then crown his A**... But he is who we thought he was!)

This is what I wrote in the original post, so here it is again just for you.

Matt Moore, for one reason.

I am not taking anything away from Jon Beason, Steve Smith, Julius Peppers, Jonathan Stewart, or DeAngelo Williams, but all it took was a new Quarterback to get this team winning again. The move showed that a Quarterback is vital to a teams success, you can have the best Running Back combo in the NFL and still have a bad record [Eliminates J-Stew and D-Will]. You can have one of the finest receivers in the NFL, but unless you have a good Quarterback that can get him the ball the receiever isn't worth a dime [Eliminates Steve Smith]. You can have one of the toughest and meanest Linebacker and one of the most fiercest Defensive End in the game, but without a Quarterback that can at least get them more than two minitues of rest, the opposing Quarterback will make that superlative Defensive End and state of the art Linebacker look like Pop Warner players [Eliminates John Beason and Julius Peppers]. Every single player did an amazing job this season however, Matt Moore salvaged this season.

Matt Moore gets my vote for MVP.

Because all of those guys were playing while we were still losing. Moore came in and the team started winning. It's not that hard to figure.

"MVP" does not equal "best player", but rather "most valuable player". A guy who came in and acted as a catalyst is easy to put in that role.

And FYI, if you count the fact that Moore only played in a limited number of games this season as a strike against him, explain how you have Sherrod Martin ranked 9th when he saw even less action than Moore :sosp:

Agree or not, there is definitely logic behind it.

You're giving Moore too much credit. Couldn't the improvement also coincide with other positions deciding to buckle down for the inexperienced kid? 15 of Jake's 18 ints came while hurried. Matt suddenly seems to have all day in the pocket. The O line decided to step up? Smitty admits to at least one wrong read that resulted in a Jake int. but nothing remotely resembling that (Dallas) happened after Matt took over. Then there was luck (beginners?). How many of Jake's ints were tipped, one even kicked up into the air increasing the possibility of ints? I like Matt going forward but MVP? Total nuts.

Pretty simple Moore threw one interception. Granted alot of good players on the team but if Jake was still back there or Moore threw alot of picks we wouldnt have won 3 out the last 4 games. We would have a losing season and QB questions for next season.

The problem I have with your assesment is that the Offensive Line stepped up for Matt Moore. I personally think the Offensive Line stepped up for DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart not Matt Moore and the passing game. Matt Moore makes more throws on the run than I have seen a Quarterback in Carolina do in a long time. Matt Moore still gets the same pressure Jake did in the pocket, however Matt makes something out of nothing, rather than throw the ball up for grabs, he will.....

1. Run with it

2. Throw it away, i.e. out of bounds or out of everyone's reach

3. Just take the sack

Matt realizes that in order to be a successful Quarterback you have to play smart, which is one thing I really like about him.

Also, what does MVP stand for?

M-Most

V-Valuable

P-Player

MVP is not always going to be the best player on the team, now watching the NBA may make you think that the MVP only goes to the best players in the league, however that is a misconseption. Matt Moore is not yet an All-Star, nonetheless he is an MVP in my book.
