Please. If there's any team moving to LA it will not be the Carolina Panthers. See Rams, Jaguars, etc.

don't kid yourself all it takes is for Richardson to become incapacitated and with new unprepared ownership all of a sudden it becomes a real possibility.

not to mention this is one 8-8 season off 4 straight playoff berths, 4 playoff victories, and one superbowl championship win.

If the Panthers could ever accomplish something like that and then go .500 afterwards, i don't even think our more passive fans would even give a poo about what happened.

Those bitches are way over due for a let down.... the ironic part of all of this is they want John Fox, I say give it to them.

Wrong again Gman as usual. Fassel was fired during the 2003 season. Since Couglin came in 2004 they have had 3 winning seasons out of 6. Outside of the improbable super bowl run in 2007, they haven't won a playoff game otherwise under Coughlin. Honestly Fox came within a field goal of winning a ring himself. Coughlin should be on the hotseat and is not better than Fox at this point. They have better talent than we do at this point but the results haven't been much better other than 2007 which was admittedly a fluke given they barely made the playoffs.

Yes but they went to the playoffs four times and coughlin is on the hotseat for the second time despite winning a super bowl. Because elite teams don't accept mediocrity like the panthers do

The Giants ownership said that the GM and Coach will be in place for 2010. That ain't the "hot seat". The rookie D.C. was fired to appease the angry fans. Made it look like something was done. The players should be the ones on the "hot seat". They absolutely gave up and turned into one of the worst teams in the league in two short games. Since I don't care about the G-boys, it was funny to watch.

Haven't we all seen this "too little too late" act under Fox before? Or is everyone just scared of what might be if Fox isnt here. Just like people were scared of letting Peppers go, because of how good he might be with a change of scenery. Or scared to bench Delhomme after the first game of the year when he clearly had lost whatever made him a functional QB, because Moore might be worse. Even though we might be better off without Fox and with a new attitude, one that shoots for winning every game and playing to win, consistently.

How many teams over the past 8 years can say that? No one is accepting mediocrity only saying that the worst we do under Fox is to be average or finish in the middle. At best we are in the Superbowl. There is a big difference between liking average and never finishing below average.

7 - 9 = below average / 3 years

8-8 = middle / 2 years

above that / 3 years

Sounds to me a lot of people on this board went from fire Fox! To medicrity is where we belong, lets give him one more chance...AGAIN!

As for the teams that can say that I'm sure it would be about half the league

The fact that the owner had to come out and say that is proof that he is on the.hotseat otherwise ther would be no reason to bring it up. Rest assure another non winning season like this next year and coughlin will be gone

after that philly game, i threw the towel in on fox.im done with him.him playing not to lose the game, and conservative style will never win a super bowl. plus if he is here next year, look for delhomme to start.im tired of other teams going to playoffs winning year in and out.

I know right! Here I am trying to convience her that being a Dallas fan is dumb and I'm pulling for a team getting beat 30 to zip at half and the other team has a total of like 14 yards in offense...needless to say it didn't go over well. :(

    • THIS MIGHT PISS OFF SOME STEVE SMITH SR. FANS:  He WAS detrimental to this team.  Sure, he is on the hall of fame ballot and is probably our best player ever--but he punched 2 teammates--and that is the tip of the glacier.  Remember, I watched him haze and belittle Dwayne Jarrett at an OTA. Jarrett even reacted by giving me a hard hand slap when I mentioned it to him--.  I know bullying when I see it (educator who has written books about trauma caused by abuse and bullying) I have commented on the fact that nobody seemed to be friends with Smith except Kasay.  He was a bully and the coaches allowed it. Bunch of Alpha males chewing the tall grass. Here is a list of all the WRs Steve Smith 'mentored" after they were drafted:  2003: Walter Young 2004: Keary Colbert, Drew Carter 2007: Dwayne Jarrett, Rhyne Robinson 2010: Brandon Lafell,  Armanti Edward, David Gettis 2011: Kealoha Pilares 2012: Joe Adams That is 10 WRs drafted and only 1 had some degree of success, Brandon Lafell, who averaged around 600 yards a season for 8 years in the NFL--it is noteworthy that his numbers increased after leaving Carolina for NE.   This proves nothing, but it is interesting and coincides with the list of free agents we brought in during that time.  My argument:  It is possible that whatever Smith contributed to this team could be a result of bullying others into more diminished roles--Smith called it competition, and in fairness, he was the hardest practicing player I ever watched at OTAs over the years.  But it seems he was Napoleonic in his approach to teammates, possibly damaging the unit and keeping young players from developing--transitioning from college to the pros must be intimidating--especially when an established player is constantly attacking (challenging, to Smith) you as you are trying to learn the plays and culture.  It was so bad when I saw him doing it to Jarrett, it pissed me off.  I think Jarrett was pretty slow and was unsure of the plays etc--it was his rookie OTAs.  This is not proof, just an interesting possibility.  If you have ever had someone at your place of employment with some authority start harassing you, you might understand how a 21-year old kid might feel.
