The Giants also had a new DC i didn't see them getting dominated all over the field in the early run.

Question is not if they had a new DC but are they running a new scheme like we were or more of the same. What happened that they got dominated late while we steadily improved? Seems their defense collapsed while ours got much better?

So Bull, why are you an uber-fan of a mediocre Panther team? There are plenty of teams with FOs that gives a damn. Why not choose to be a fan of those teams? The Panthers are what they are. A frustratingly conservative team that is happy with little or no return for their effort. Shouting to the masses will do nothing but relieve your stress. Come over to another team and enjoy.

Doesn't matter, we were talking about teams and coaching over the same period that Fox coached.

If we started off 5-0 and finished 3-8, Fox would be gone. We finished going in opposite directions to the Giants.

Wrong! Nice try changing the argument after you got schooled though. The argument was that elite teams would not accept three winning seasons in eight years from their hc

Because I know one day everybody's patience will run dry with this bullshit mindset this team is locked in and it will either change towards a more aggressive proactive approach or the franchise will dissolve.

LA Panthers anyone? It is maddening for sure. Not quite to the blow it up stage though. Fox doesn't make me want to go to war either. He will be gone soon enough.

Wrong again Gman as usual. Fassel was fired during the 2003 season. Since Couglin came in 2004 they have had 3 winning seasons out of 6. Outside of the improbable super bowl run in 2007, they haven't won a playoff game otherwise under Coughlin. Honestly Fox came within a field goal of winning a ring himself. Coughlin should be on the hotseat and is not better than Fox at this point. They have better talent than we do at this point but the results haven't been much better other than 2007 which was admittedly a fluke given they barely made the playoffs.

it wasn't a huge adjustment the Panthers went through. Meeks' defense is more simplified and run on a base package the defense had run before. Tampa 2 wasn't a mystery to us.

Bill Sheridan was a little more conservative than Spagnuolo and called far less blitzes, which was how the defense became so successful. Against lesser teams like Washington and Oakland and Tampa Bay whose offensive lines were weaker it worked but against stronger competition it was ineffective.

this assumes whoever buys the team and moves it to LA won't change the name, the logo, even the colors and if they do which is likely, then what are we all going to do? Are we going to root for a barely recognizable franchise that now plays 3,000 miles away or are most of the people who were Redskins and Cowboys fans going to defect to their old team?

SB win > a couple regular season victories.

So really who gives a sh*t if we have more wins since Fox has been here than the Giants? They actually WON a SB since that time.

Problem is a superbowl actually makes it harder on you rather than buying you time. Expectations are raised alot. So if they don't make the playoffs again next year, how many seasons does a superbowl win give you.

Same as a 14-2 regular season gets you?

It's the NFL you can be gone in a flash no matter what.

So being a fan I'll take the championships to go along with our mediocrity k thx.

Wonder how acting like someone else would work out for you. Glad were not all in the news. This is a business...and its best that we DONT know whats going on. If WE do, then EVERYONE does also. Chaos and drama run down an organization. Oh yea an FO talking reckless to the media without any action causes problems.

lol 2007 was "a fluke"

and Fox just got unlucky when he had his chance. FFS how we seek to canonize this guy at every opportunity.

Fox isn't better than Coughlin, not even to this day. Coughlin has made countless postseasons with two different teams, he's won a superbowl, and Fox has done a lot less. Coughlin coached a franchise in it's infancy and turned it into a respectable contender immediately when Fox was a personnel consultant.
