The Shanahan has landed

Mike Shanahan is in Washington D.C. to meet with the Redskins, according to NBC 4 in Washington. The Associated Press has confirmed the report.

Shanahan landed at Dulles Airport and reportedly was whisked into a Dan Snyder car believed to be headed to the Redskins team facility. (Brad Childress oddly was their driver.)

The rapid movement on the Shanahan front means that we could have a press conference introducing him as Redskins head coach within a day or two.

UPDATE: The Washington Post writes that negotiations are expected to conclude after Shanahan's arrival. We passed along a report that Shanahan already spoke with G.M. Bruce Allen Monday.

Report: Redskins likely to introduce Shanahan Tuesday

In news that should come as a surprise to no one, the Washington Redskins are reportedly ready to formally introduce Mike Shanahan as their next head coach, and may make the official announcement on Tuesday.

Jason Reid of the Washington Post reported on Monday afternoon that the Redskins, barring unforeseen glitches, will likely introduce Shanahan in a news conference Tuesday.
