What fans have had it the worst?

There are two schools of thought here....go with the team that has never tasted much success at all (like the Cubs in baseball), or go with the team that has teased its fans into submission, constantly leading them to the brink before gagging in the big games.

Here are teams I think qualify....

Vikings

Eagles

Saints

Lions

Bills

Browns

Bengals

Colts

Chargers

I'd say Colts hands down if they didn't have a trophy recently. I'm gonna have to go with the Bills, simply because that one four-year period was the most cruelty and fan base has ever had to go through.

Got to go with the Browns. When's the last time they mattered? Plus they've had to cope with the pain of watching their beloved franchise up and leave, and then win a Super Bowl less than a decade into their new digs. And all the time the fans have been unflaggably loyal, and routinely fill a stadium that dips below 10 degrees in the winter. They've had the hardest time of it. Props to any Browns fan.

Good point. Plus they had a lot of close calls in the 80s. They had the Broncos pinned on their two with like two or three minutes to go in the AFC championship and a seven point lead. Blew it. Were on the Denver two in the final minute to take the lead the next year. Fumbled it. The year the Raiders won it all in 81, it took a gift from Cleveland to advance.

And then on top of that, when you're not watching football you've got the Indians and the Cavaliers. Before Lebron that city was probably the worst sports city in the US. If he leaves, good god....

And I'm sorry about the Cubs, but the Bears do have a ring from '85, and the Bulls were godlike with Jordan, and the Blackhawks will probably win a cup within the next year or two so gtfo.

101 years, likely 102.

Let that sink in.

102

Nuff said.

Yeah, but Bartman was the only stomach punch you guys have had, and that was just to get to the World Series. The Red Sox had heartbreaking losses to the Reds in 75, the Yankees in 78, the Mets in 86, the Yankees again in 03...sucking doesn't feel like a curse. Getting close and having it yanked away does.

The Falcons? Maybe you just hate us too much to put us even on this list.

The Falcons and Saints came in the League pretty much at the same time. No one would even try to claim that the Falcons have been worse than the Saints. Atlanta made it to a Super Bowl. Atlanta has had pockets of non-suckitude since the mid 70s. And Atlanta just had back to back winning seasons, something New Orleans and Carolina have never had, I don't think.

Oh yeah def the Saints have had it worse. NO had 3 winning seasons back to back in the early 90s with the Dome Patrol.
