Does anyone else think Kasay should retire?

He has lost a step. Can he still do a decent job for us? Sure. Are there better kickers. Yes there are. Most are under contract though.

Finding a kicker is hard. He's older but he still makes field goals! Leg strength is important but accuracy is even more important! He's an asset...

I love threads like this.

Why?

Cause it shows what lil you know.

The fact is, Kasey is the best left footed kicker in the league. He is accurate, and can still make the 50+ yarders.

If one of the other kicking specialists on the had Kasey's accuracy, this would be a different story. Kasey isn't a problem.

You are correct sir.

What I don't understand is why threads about Kasay needing to get the boot always come up, but people never mention other players on the team that are average to above average as a huge problem that needs to be addressed.

Kasay is better at his position than a guy like Na'il Diggs is at his or Richard Marshall is at his, yet I never see any threads suggesting that we should cut them.

It's almost like some people have a vendetta against Kasay for some reason I really don't understand it.

And as for roster spots, what difference does that make for fans? Carrying three kickers should only matter to the coaching staff. The only thing that's costing us is the opportunity to have another inactive scrub on the 53-man roster rather than the practice squad. Yippee, that should be a huge concern for fans. Not.

I think he should. He doesn't have nearly the leg he used to and he cant even do kickoffs anymore. I love Kasay and what he's done for this team, but he is approaching the point where he can become a liability in the near future.

Not only no but Hell No!

Yeah, people have NEVER mentioned Panthers players as being too old. Moose is a damned spring chicken! Hoov is about to hit puberty! Jake could play 10 more years! Minter and Rucker retired too soon, they were in their prime! Davis could've been our running back another 7 years!

DUDE...we're just wondering if he's nearing the end. Nobody says he sucks.

Time to hang em up.

Ridiculous we have 3 kickers and practically keeping one for sentimental purposes.

It would be different if I didn't have to hold my breath every time we line up for a field goal, but then again special teams haven't been close to below average in a while so..

Yeah, at least that guy on the Giants still does his job well, to warrant a roster spot,, While Kasay has been on the decline, and it's showing you can't deny it.
