Does anyone else think Kasay should retire?

Shows how little you know, he hasn't made anything above 50 yards in the past 2 years and he missed some shorter ones this year.
I know this, Kasey rarely misses. And I've seen every FG kicker miss this year, most of them worse than Kasey.

Kasey is still good beyond 50, but Fox hasn't called for many of them recently. I suppose to could take that as he thinks he shouldn't put Kasey in that position.

I bet you if the game was on the line, and we were down by 2, and we were 50-55 yards out, he'd send Kasey out. Of course, this is just my opinion.

I love threads like this.

Why?

Cause it shows what lil you know.

The fact is, Kasey is the best left footed kicker in the league. He is accurate, and can still make the 50+ yarders.

If one of the other kicking specialists on the had Kasey's accuracy, this would be a different story. Kasey isn't a problem.

yet you can't even spell his name correctly.

Learn how to spell his last name right before you try to argue in favor of him.

He has lost a step. Can he still do a decent job for us? Sure. Are there better kickers. Yes there are. Most are under contract though.

The end is near. He's great inside 50 yards but there is no denying his leg strength is fading. His still good enough from within 50 yards to be valuable, but I have little confidence from beyond 50 yards and it seems fox does too.

At some point you have to let go and start putting the team first.

Some of you guys saying that he should be the one who decides when he leaves are thinking with your heart instead of your brain. Players never should have authority over a coach. He needs to leave when he can no longer play at a high level. We really let Rucker and Minter stay one more year than they should have. But fox is so loyal that's just what he does.

He needs to retire soon. Morten and Gary Anderson also regressed and didn't have much leg either.

Here's a great compromise, draft a blue chip kicker with a big leg to replace ryhs lloyd and let him be groomed as kasay's replacement. Because I seriously doubt Lloyd with ever be a true NFL kicker.

I understand why no one wants to see him go, but let's be real. He HAS lost leg strength. Anyone who knows what they're watching can see his kicks come off his foot lower than they ever have because he has to sacrifice height for distance. I didn't see that before this year.

If you're going to expect to compete in January, you need a kicker who will give you points if you get to the 35 (53 yard fg) and he can't do that anymore.

I agree..this is the same concept that prob will get Peppers resigned to huge deal. that will overrpay him.Sentimental Value

Yep. Also the reason Jake is still mentioned as a possible starter next year, and why he'll probably still be on the roster next year.

But yea, its about that time for him to retire. We need a kicker who can do both FG's and kickoffs.
