Peppers, maybe he will stay?

Peppers found out last offseason that nobody was going to pay him what he wanted on the open market. He had the UFA experience last year without being unrestricted and got shut down. Nobody was going to give him what he thought he could have gotten on an extension.

Now he's going to handle the situation more rationally. If the Panthers offer him a fair contract then he will take it. Hell, he made enough money on the front end of this franchise year to offset any losses he may take from taking less money anyways.

I think the best option for the Panthers at this point would be to do the "unthinkable" in NFL standands and offer him a 2 to 3 year contract with everything gaurenteed.

As for trading him for draft picks, if the Panthers could get a trade in which they got the #1 overall and drafted Suh, then I would be happy to have Peppers as a part of that trade. Anything less than that and I agree that you will not find a equal replacement for Peppers talent.

this.
