I mean, I think it's a good play. Don't get me wrong. But is it the type of play I get excited about? Definitely not. It's a play I expect an NFL QB to make. There's nothing about this play that makes me say, "Wow. Now I see why we felt like we had to go all in to get this guy!"

Were the Jaguars saying that about Trevor Lawrence his rookie year? I doubt it. They went 3-14 and he had 9 games where he didn't throw a TD and only 2 games where he threw more than one. Could it be possible that Bryce Young just needs some time? Is it possible that not every young QB comes into the NFL ready to set the world on fire? Yes Stroud has been killing it. Would he be doing the same here with this system and staff? I doubt it. Oh and btw Trevor Lawrence's WRs that year? DJ Chark and Laviska Shenault. Sound familiar? Gotta give the kid some time. This offense/scheme/running game/O line/WRs/TEs have done Bryce absolutely no favors so far this year.

Its not really even about stats or wins and losses at this point, Bryce doesnt even look like he is the same species as Stroud and AR.

If anyone watched that video and came away thinking BY and Stroud's stiuation is even remotely equal...

You have an ulterior motive. Much better protection. Much better separation. Much better plays with receivers spread out. This is not what BY is looking at on game days. Stroud is making the plays. But I'm not sure BY doesn't make these plays too.

Some of things I am reading in here have me wondering how you all can spend so much time on a football forum and know so little.

I dont care who the QB is in this video or what team... this a ridiculous throw with those elements and it all happens within a half second.

How is it a ridiculous throw? It's an absolutely routine NFL play.

He actually makes it more difficult for himself with the 'off platform' aspect because his footwork sucks. It's a 10 yard throw across the middle of the field - sadly that's the only throw he's comfortable making at this level.

Did the Jags have good reason to think that Trevor was seriously physically limited in what he can do on an NFL football field?

    • If we continue to play like how we played the chiefs, and grow from it, shoot we going undefeated all the way (Channeling Jameis Winston).
    • He made some excellent throws but he always has made some excellent throws here and there. I don't know what to think, which is what I was apprehensive about. Is he going to have a decent downfield game? Because okay Legette dropped one, but someone was giving stats prior to the bye or during it where he had two downfield completions and one of them was the jump ball that is just launched and fingers are crossed that our guy comes down with it, and yesterday we saw that again. The Russell Wilson school of downfield passing.  I don't feel like that is sustainable, but at the same time you have to do Something to make the defense understand they have to defend that downfield throws. Like i said, confused.  I guess I'm going to review the game for myself and look closely at his mechanics and stuff because if he actually fixed that stuff it explains the better throws. And that has been my biggest objection, or what I see as the thing that makes or breaks his chances, that unorthodox dropback and tippy toe action and not having his feet set which limits velocity etc etc.
