Have the Giants quit on Tom Coughlin?

The last 2 games the Gaints have been blown out by a combined score of 85-16.

After the 2006 season's poor performance and player discontent the Giant organization hesitantly brought Coughlin back for another try. That year the Giant Wild Card team got hot and swept there way to an improbable Super Bowl win over the heavily favored Patriots.

Since then it's been a one and done in the playoffs (as they have their other 2 earlier playoff appearances under Coughlin) followed by this season's major disappointment.

Are the Giants ready for a head coaching change?

And who might be a perfect fit?

I think after we beat them and knocked them out of the playoffs, they lost their fire. Unlike the Panthers, we have been out of the playoff picture for weeks, so we were playing for pride. They didn't have time to get over it and move on. I guess we will see how they handle that disappointment next year. I'm pretty sure Coughlin bought a few years of goodwill win the SB appearance/win, but being in NY that won't last as long as it does in Carolina.

Pat Yas alludes to this in his latest blog post. A very good read...

Remember, Fox was defensive coordinator in New York before he took the Carolina job. He's a darling of the New York fans, media and ownership. Sure, Richardson is very close with Giants ownership and this could be a delicate situation. But Richardson's created the situation, and there's no doubt he gave extensive thought to every scenario and is prepared for every possibility.

This is a good read. They also said this on Sportscenter. Also, that the Bills would 'love' to have him. I think if they are looking at Cowher already, they could easily get Fox for a cheaper price. If they offer a long-term deal to him, he's gone.
