Say you are Jerry Richardson, and there is news that Cowher might sign on to be the next coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Would you buy-out Fox's remaining year and hire Cowher to avoid Tampa signing him? Maybe risking Fox will go to Tampa? Just a hypothetical...it could happen

Nope. One need to look at too much money wasted when buying out Fox's contract & then pay Cowher a shitload of money than we should that we could not be able to afford some FAs & Draft players. Especially if we're going to keep many damn good players on the team for years.
