Hoover's 3rd and 9

If there was ever a time that Fox would be aggressive and play to win- it was this play that will forever define the man known as John Fox.

With his 8th year coming to an end, one more left if the swarming rumors of him being fired are proven false, and having a huge question mark at the QB position next year (that will either make or break his job as a Panther HC...)

He decides or allows Hoover to run the ball instead of testing the only guy who should have had the ball in his hand at the time, Matt Moore.

With the season over within a couple hours of that moment, it was too much of a risk to let loose and see what your QB can do in that moment when under pressure and also to give him that much needed experience.

^^^Yeah I'm all for Fox and all but I'm tired of seeing Hoover run on Third and long or really third and Mid range..I mean I understand if we let Sutton or someone do it but SRSLY Hoov... and this isn't the first game that we've done it either.....I guess he's just getting him some deserved carries to boost his stats...

I'd love for him to throw to DJ or Moose a little more...as Billick has been stressing this whole game we need to see what we have....

    • I think the experts overthink it at times.  I am also not sure they measure things that matter, and if you measure things that don't really matter, it can cause your board to fluctuate--you are creating bias using facts that are assumed to equate to performance.  Football is an emotional game, and if I were a GM, I would measure emotional intelligence.  I would measure (if this can be measured) the speed of conversion from a concept (technical/mechanics) to muscle memory.  I would watch film and time how long it takes a qb to get to their second and third reads--how long does it take an ILB to make the first step and how often do they false step.  How often does a WR bobble a pass vs. clean catches? Examples, but there has to be something we are not measuring that would improve our success rates in drafts.
