Trade Gross, Let Schwartz Start Next Year

REALLY

REALLY!

Wow.... Kalil is young. Gross will be 30 soon. Age doesnt mean a thing anymore huh? Guess not. Neither do contracts too SMH. Yall funny man. Yall dont even think about trading away talent. Lets keep them till they die

Trade Pep though. I knew it would be some who wouldn't even think about the good that could come out of it. Automatic no

Ummm....yeah really

Thinking a backup can do just as good a job as our probowl-caliber LT (Keep telling yourself that every team has a least four of them on their roster at any given time) just because we have a good line is giving your O-line coach waaaaaaay too much credit. Give Gross some credit for being the starter. You can't honestly think that it's all coaching. Just because I refuse to overrate our O-line coach like Beastson has doesn't mean I don't think he has done a great job. Get your heads out of your asses, guys.

I am thinking about the future. The only difference is that I have realistic expectations. Suggesting we trade away our Franchise LT just because you get hard-ons for drafted wide receivers is just stupid.

we are not talking about drafting a WR with the gross trade, but the possibility of signing one with the cap savings (i dont know the # though). the 1st rounder could be anything. i think those thinking about this type of deal arnt looking at just the pick, but the cap implications and what that means in FA. if we traded him and didnt pickup a big name WR, i would be pissed. that would be a waist imo, as the primary reason i consider this a possibility is cap savings to bring in another all pro at a possition of need: WR.

also wharton is a fine LT, as good as gross, or as good a LT as LG, no. but he is more than capable. also this "franchise" LT was a RT for a few years with Wharton at LT and we still had a great running game and passing game in 2005. as for the notion as we are a running team. the question mark in this are what to do at LG, not LT, and the depth on the entire left side. this would blow the left side depth up, and thats a valid concern. that said i would rather improve the starting lineup as a whole with a weaker bench than a poor starting recieving corp (and 0 depth) and great OL depth that rarely sees the field.

How am I overrating? You going to go that low just to prove a point? After what our line went through and still get the production out of it, I'm overrating? Wow

35 kool. 35? So we're going to keep Gross at 35 with talent like Schwartz in his place. With that talent in place, 32 MAX. But its young talent receivers out there now. If we dont trade, and still get a quality receiver, I'm fine with Gross. When did I not give Gross any credit? I said in the passing game, inconsistent. Running game, he's a beast

But if we dont take the chance, dont get quality receivers in here, since yall like our the team the exact way it is, Im coming for of all yall if it dont work out. If you got a better idea to get some WR here, fine. Say what you feel. I like this idea, as well as others

Kenny, Pats do it all the time

What if Schwartz doesn't do well next season? Keep in mind, that this is actually a possibility (looking at you Beastson). What if our drafted player ends up sucking also? what then? You don't trade your stars to get unproven players, especially when the star is a lineman and we're a run team. Get real.

Just because you traded away six starters in Madden before the season started and ended up winning the superbowl doesn't mean this is a good idea. This is a horrible idea, and I'm sure any GM in the NFL would agree. When you're sitting at home wondering why you aren't a GM in the NFL, remember this thread k

Why do you keep talking about the draft. Uh free agency. Gross does give us some free space. Another point being ignored. I mentioned a pick cause of the talented receivers coming out

No, not all GM would agree. Pats GM wouldn't disagree. Look at the talent they traded away. Its called chance, I mean damn yall sooo scary. Take a chance, yall sound like Fox right now

What if Gross suck next year? What if he blow his knee out early? Come on now

Eh, Jake is a leader, and if we lose him we will lose the locker room

Weak comparsion there. Jake is a QB & Gross's a LT. You can't compare a QB to any other positions, with how the QB throw the ball.

And Schwartz is not good enough to be a full time starter compare to Gross, so I rather we keep Gross. Schwartz is a better backup than starter. Period.

Like Zod said. Colts traded Faulk, and got James. So that comment about oh we dont trust the draft and unproven players is b.s

Panthers fans need to stop being so scary and content where the Panthers is at. You can bet whether its Gross or D.Will, Hurney will be considering ideas

Are you kidding? Yeah, let's compare a completely dissimilar situation to this. Let's just forget about the fact that the Colts are one of the best drafters in the league and that drafting a good running back is the easiest f**king thing to do. Let's take that out of the equation and just assume it will work out for us because it worked for the Colts a decade ago in an absolutely unrelated situation. Seriously man, how many different ways do I have to say this is a bad idea? I'm just going to let things play out in the offseason and hopefully you realize that your idea sucks when it doesn't happen.

So you gotta a better idea to get WR in here? If you do, say something instead of criticizing my idea

Or do you think we should keep our core. If so, when next year come and our passing offense still be in the same position, I'm coming right towards you

This is some dumb poo on a whole new level. Not only do you want to trade Gross but you would be willing to do it for a 2nd? BRILLIANT!

The level of incompetence in this is astounding. You do not ever trade your Franchise LT. Beaston, you stated earlier that the Pats would be willing to do this, wrong. They let an unhappy Seymour go for a 1st, big difference. Look how bad thier pass rush has been since. I guarantee you if you offered a 2nd for Light, Bellichick would punch you in the face.

    • It’s still amazing that 12 year olds playing Madden can manage a clock so much better than so many NFL coaches.   I get there is an in the moment factor but still….it doesn’t excuse how badly so many do it.  literally just hire a clock management coach to be there to fixate on those things.  If he says call a timeout, call a time out.    I mean they can hire data guys, breathing instructors, get back coaches, and everything under the sun.
    • Well, here's to yet another wasted, 21-61 season. That No. 6 pick in next year's draft will look good on IR next year, too.
    • Good for him... Wishing him nothing but success.
