Meeks points Panthers defense toward dominance

If we get a new staff, Meeks will be our biggest loss by far.

this right here is exactly why I'm not TOO upset Fox is staying. I'd love to see Meeks stick around, but a new head coach = cleaning house and hiring his own coordinators :[

It's not a given that a new coach would get rid of Meeks. Since the Panthers offered to keep the staff around this upcoming season, they will not fire the entire staff. Thus it would be up to a new head coach.

Even though I was being a bit overly optimistic about our chances to dominate defensively at the start of the season, I knew deep in my heart that it was going to take some time for Meeks to get his style of an attacking-ball hawking defense flying on all cylinders. I hated the initial transition period, but boy my optimism was well warranted if what has taken place the last few weeks will translate to the future.

I'd hate to see Meeks in anything but the teal and black next season, because he reminds me of a mad scientist, always figuring and analyzing the perfect/ optimum way to get the most productivity out of yet untapped power in our defensive pool of talent.

I LOVE watching our defense now. Bear in mind that we're missing some guys on "D", like Davis and Kemoeatu, to name but a few. Our "D" looks like they WANT to be out there, they're loving it. Compare that to last year, where late in the season, one had to (well, I did anyway) hold their breath everytime the other team took an offensive snap. Maybe Meeks has connected with Pep and is getting the best he has to offer. I don't know what has transpired, but I am loving the result! If we fix our ST's, get some WR help, and let Moore develop, we just may be onto something for the next few years!

If Meeks is made HC, I don't think that is such a bad development. I hope if a new HC is brought in, part of the deal is that Meeks stays. He's earned that..

Just wait til all of those injured DT's come back for TC. If they can find another fast LBer in the draft of a FA, they should be even better right out of the gate next year.

This is the one thing that I would hate about Cowher coming here. This is just not a good time to be switching to a 3-4 defense.

I would hate to see Meeks go if Fox ends up out the door. He's done a fantastic job with the D.

Please don't mix up our color with Jaguars. Every time I hear peeps say our color is teal, especially analysts, it makes me cringe.
