Florida Fans love/blindness over The Golden Calf of Bristol rival that of Heels fans love/blindness over Hansburogh

Dude- as a UNC fan- Hansburogh I hated for the 1st couple years, but man.... he won my respect in his junior year...

He was one hell of a College ball player...

Yeah, he's a great college QB, no doubt about it. I just have my doubts about him playing QB in the NFL. For one thing, he will have to change his throwing motion radically and he will have to learn a completely different way of playing the position, unless somebody uses him in the wildcat and lets him run those same types of read option plays. I think he would be great in that role.

I dont agree with having to change..

IF" he can manage to do what he does in the NFL with his motion now then no one can argue-- He just needs a chance so we can see...

If not- then I am sure he will do whatever he has to too get it right..

An unorthodox throwing motion doesn't really mean much, I remember Philip Rivers got all kinds of poo before the draft for how he sidearms the ball. However, The Golden Calf of Bristol has about the longest windup and release I have seen in a successful college QB. The guy pulls the ball all the way down to his thigh before he swings it up over his head.. Anyone getting pressure on him would be gunning for a fumble every time he threw the ball. Not even Byron Leftwich can match the abomination that is The Golden Calf of Bristol's throwing motion. When he has to face NFL defenders who are more athletic than himself and can actually compete with his OLine, he will be in a lot of trouble.

His throwing motion reminds me of somebody, who is it?

Picture The Golden Calf of Bristol bringing that ball down to his thigh in the NFL. He won't have a clean pocket all the time and somebody will take that ball away from him, not to mention the fact that it will take slightly longer to get to his target.

Phillip Rivers is totally different. Yeah, his motion is kind of weird, but he still has a very quick release and the ball never goes below his shoulder.

The Golden Calf of Bristol will be drafted and he will get recoached on his throwing motion. He needs to sit for 2-3 and then he should be a good QB.

It's not just his throwing motion. It is also his pocket presence, or lack there of. He, for some reason, cannot feel the pressure of the defense. Also, he holds on to the ball too long to buy time for pass plays that aren't there. It results in sacks instead of throwing the ball away or a short yard run.

You mean if he can manage to be on a teams thats got significantly more talent than 95% of its opponents?

The Golden Calf of Bristol might make it in the NFL, but the odds are that he will not. Thats true of any college player, but especially Quarterbacks.
