Has Young shown flashes of being a #1 pick?

Nah.. 4 games in, Peyton looked like ass. I'm not going to give up on him yet cuz he's being hamstrung by the coaching staff. He's our best chance at success and I'd rather believe he's going to be good versus the alternative

Did he really?  I'd say no.  But you be the judge.  Here's his fourth game:

His first pass goes for 40 yards.

If you're having to go back to 1998 to feel better about the guy you picked it's not a good sign.

Young is the #1 overall pick and we traded a poo load to get him.  Have their been qbs in the same situation that looked bad (albeit with signs of great play sprinkled in) sure.  But there has also been situations like say stroud, ar, Herbert, cam, luck, etc that came out of the gate firing on all cylinders showing you they can be a true #1.

So all that talk about dont worry about his size or arm, he is the most nfl ready since luck, elite processor etc is just pretty much bullshit.  Complete bullshit, all of the things we were concerned about are coming true.  He cant make the high level throws and the staff seems to know this

You sound like Matt Rhule. Where is this invisible promise? The offense scored 6 points yesterday and 3 came off a 56 yard field goal on a short field. The strip sack negated any offensive points we scored. Yes the weapons could be better but our QB is a massive part of the reason we suck. We can’t even get a play off in time.

It literally asks if he has shown flashes. You understand a flash is not a game?

Yes and there haven’t been flashes either. Making one or two off schedule throws in 3 full starts isn’t a “flash.” There’s yet to be even a single drive where it felt like he was taking advantage of a defense that was actively trying to stop him. I don’t count the drive against the saints prevent defense. What specifically have you seen?

I think the question at this point. Is Bryce really this bad? If he was on another team would he still be this bad? If the answer is yes then did his people play him up when in reality he was probably a low rounder? If no what percentages of blame lays where?

Panthers players said Young’s problem wasn’t failing to recognize blitzes, although Wonnum believes the Vikings’ interior pressure affected Young’s field vision. “He really couldn’t step up and see what was going on,” Wonnum said. “Having those guys allowed us to work on the edge, and Harrison and all of us were able to make big plays.”

I guess we all have different opinions of "flash".  To me, a flash is what Zach Wilson did last night on that 3rd quarter drive.  Everyone hates on him and he has played poorly.  However, last night there was this drive where he was laser focused.  Throwing multiple back shoulder throws with zip and PERFECT accuracy.  He even had a Cam-esque run into the end zone for a 2 point conversion.

It left me (and Collinsworth) saying, "holy cow, who is this guy??".  It was awesome to see.

That is a flash to me.  And no, haven't seen anything even remotely close out of Bryce. 😞  But I will continue to watch and cheer the team on.

I wanted Stroud bro. I'm just...not panicking in game 3 when play calling has been shitter than the QB play.

We don't have WRs that get a ton of separation, use motion to get more separation presnap. We saw success in up tempo. Do that more.

Is it just me, or do we only mainly use motion on running plays?  And its usually the TE?  Seems like we only have 2 running plays, and we use them all the time.  They both feature the TE coming in motion for some reason...Reich needs to hang his play sheet up already and turn the reigns over to Brown, before its too late for everybody.

The Panthers will be on the clock in two years looking for a new QB. I’ve seen enough to believe that Bryce isn’t the guy. Yeah, the play calling sucks and the Panthers need more weapons. But I’ve not seen anything that makes me believe in this QB. I hope I’m proven wrong, believe me. But I think this team would be better with either Stroud or Richardson at this point. I think the Panthers chose the wrong guy.
