What do you guys think

Im not asking if you want it to happen, if it should happen, or what we could get if it happened... I want to know if you guys actually think it will happen.

I am reading so many articles online about the Pantehrs considering trading D-Will. But hey, we always hear rumors of trades and 85% to 90% of the time they never happen. So do you guys think this is a possability. Would the Panthers really considering trading one of their top 5 players? Personally I am not opposed depending on what we get. J-Stew has had durability questions, but there is no doubt he can be a solid, maybe even probowl back if he stays healthy throughout a season. I would actually like to see him emerge as the starter and trade D-Will for a high pick and some depth at DT or the O-Line (or another WR depending on who it is). But would the Panthers even consider this. D-Will is on the last year of his contract but D-Will is probably a top 5-7 RB in the league. Would we risk losing him? And would we risk the chance of having a hurt J-Stew for 3-4 weeks in a season (stupid toe injuries). What do you guys think?

I think it would be really foolish to trade DeAngelo at this point. He's one of the few offensive weapons we have at the moment and while Stewart has been great, there are legitimate concerns about his durability.

It looks like we've got a QB now, we can find some WR's in FA or the draft, so we don't need to trade a guy like DeAngelo to get help.

Bottom line: I don't think it will happen. This organizations philosophy is to build through the draft and retire those players.

No way. I know people question a lot of fox/hurney decisions but this would be the dumbest move they could make. Our run game depends on 2 running backs being fresh and wearing down our opponent. Look what happened to stewart last week. He had a great game but ran out of gas in the end. He got ran down twice and only jogged on one run because he was so gassed.

people are still looking at this subject from the wrong angle.

if williams is traded, it'll be because williams wants to be traded. carolina has already shown it's intentions by trying to extend his contract last season when he was on top of his game. For whatever reason, his contract was left untouched. rumor has it, he wants to see what his role on the team will be. translate it how you will with for whatever reason you may believe, but the bottom line is no extension happened.

fast forward to now...I believe carolina will offer another extension, but this time around williams doesn't have a leg to stand on should he play hardball. stewart has proven to be a monster of a RB, and despite injury concerns (by fans) he has proven he can produce at an elite level even at less than 100% and carolina has proven they will do whatever it takes to make sure he is healthy...even if it means he never steps on a practice field again.

i've been saying it for a couple of months now. I don't believe williams wants to be here, and if a trade does happen it won't be because it was the front office's first choice.

I think he would be as good if not better with a true power back then with Stewart. I love Stewart but a 1st is just to tempting. Especially with guys available in the 2nd to 5th, like Blount or Gerhart, this year would be perfect compliments.

Gerhart is a straight up beast and is what I would call the new Double Trouble with true contrasting styles. Ones one of the best cutback runners in the league the other is one of the most powerful runners in the league. Be hard to stop. Gerhart comes in earlier in the game to wear out a defense and Dwill comes in and slashes when there winded.

LeGarrette Blount was a 1st day selection until he punched a Boise State LB after a tough loss. I believe he was antagoinzed but still it was a stupid decison. That one act could have lost Blount millions. But the good news is this means he most likely will fall into the middle of day 2.

He was very productive in college. As a junior, Blount scored 17 rushing touchdowns and averaged 7.3 yards a carry. I think for a late 2nd day pick he is worth the little risk. If he becomes a headache you cut him but if he can keep his nose clean I think he could easily become a very good compliment to Dwill.

Stewarts abilities don't come around often but I neither to Dwills. I don't see us being able to keep both of them and IMO I believe Dwill is the more explosive, consistent, and durable player. So if we are going to lose Stewart we need to do it while the irons hot. Right now I think his stock is at an all-time high and we should be able to get a 1st for him.

To me I think its worth the loss of Stewart to go after one of the top WR (Tate IMO will not be there in round 2 and I really want him in a panthers uniform) in the draft.

    • A Quarterback in this mold is and was always going to take a long time to develop. I think he still has quite a bit to go.  We didn't draft him for his foot speed or arm talent. We drafted him to be the leader and commander of the offensive unit. and he is growing in that capacity on a weekly basis. Being smart and being able to make the correct adjustment and get your team into the right play and being able to get the ball to the right spot is the most important thing an NFL quarterback can do. You can scheme around it, you can simplify, you can try everything, but those skills make a dominant NFL quarterback more than anything else. More than anything else, that's what the Montana's, Brady's, and Manning's do. And those are the ones you want. What we are seeing with Mahomes is a guy that has the brains, unique arm talent, and above average foot speed. He may go down as the greatest. I don't see that in Bryce's future.  He's got a long way to go, but he's showing he's capable of being that game managing, offense controlling guy. While that type of quarterback is the most dominant, it also takes the longest to get them game ready, and if they don't ever get to a dominant level, they often don't pan out. So it is a risk.
    • This is fake news as Trump would say. Nobody’s comparing seasons the nfl pundits ESPN first take si.com and other outlets are stating what we’re saying in this thread it looks like he’s regressing. Now to address your statement their leading their division ummm have you seen their defensive rankings compared to ours. You’re cherry picking which you can’t do with me I’m not a poster who’s here to argue I like thoughtful in depth convos. They have the 4th ranked defense put that in Carolina don’t you think we’d probably lead our division this year realistically. With the offense you’ve seen the last four weeks being average let’s just say with a 4th ranked defense how’d do you think we’d look or how many more wins would we have? You can’t say oh but they still lead their division knock it off it’s bc they have a terrible division and an elite defense. CJ is dealing with issues Bryce dealt with bad Oline and he has weapons but they’ve missed time and when out he’s looked below average having multiple 2pick games, the man’s had a 4 sack game followed by a 8 I repeat 8 sack game that’s a bad Oline leaving him to regress so Panther Bryce fans can’t pipe down we’re just stating facts bc yes they’re winning with a elite defense give a little more context to your statements it Matters!
