Matt Moore one of the best throwing over 20 yards

Bill Parcells is a good talent evaluator and saw this in Moore(the potential for this) and signed him to Cowboys before they cut him and we picked him up.

Doesn't Parcells have a complicated QB equation, on how to find them? Henne is doing well but wouldn't suprise me if he sees this and makes an offer from Miami

Yes the Cowboys' picked Moore up as an undrafted FA, invited him to camp and cut him. In other words, he wasn't one of the best three QBs on the roster. Right now the way the drooling is going on, it sounds like Parcells was an idiot for not keeping Moore, starting him and cutting Romo.

The kid is improving and not making many mistakes--kudos--that does not make him a starting NFL QB though. I'm waiting (not wishing) for a bad game just to see how quickly this wagon loses a wheel. The team has stepped up these past weeks and it is inevitable that the defense, special teams or the run game bogs down where we'll REALLY get to see what Moore is made of.

They cut moore because they were hoping to stash him on the practice squad. The other three quarterbacks on the roster had been there and were a known quantity of sorts, you don't cut your backups for a UDFA.

Matt Moore has shown he deserves a chance for consideration to start next year, and most likely will unless we somehow pick up Troy Smith.

this means nothing. Ever heard of Kurt Warner. No one is drooling. The kids playing good. Did anyone say he is Peyton Manning. We still have an entire offseason to get threw, we don't even know if he will be here next year, but his play deserves the praise its getting. Fans are excited to see good QB play, how can you blame them after watching Jake Delhomme all year?

Dear Negative Nancy,

Quit making us sad. Matt Moore has thrown 6 TDs (half of them NOT going to Steve Smith) in 2 weeks. He threw all over a couple good defenses. The team is firing on all cylinders because I believe that the defense has been so down about the fact that no matter what they do, the offense (well..Jake) will single-handedly dismantle the Panthers. It seems like the team plays better with Moore at the helm. Is he the LONG term answer (5+ years)? No. Is he our short term until we can get a first rounder and actually DRAFT a QB to go under Moore and learn? Yes. He helps us win games.

OKAY! No drooling...let's see, you have a picture of Matt Moore in your signature that says the "THEFRANCHISE". Pretty strong stuff for a someone not crushing on a still little known commodity.

Again, you are crushing because I acknowledge Moore's good play--you overlooked that part, but I have yet to "crown his @ss" (in the infamous words of Denny Green). Many of you already have.

Seven completions....amazing! I can throw a ball 20 yards and I'm not an NFL QB. Apparently Pat never took a statistics class or he'd know that stats are highly skewed in small sample sizes (10 attempts sample).

Yes, he does have a relatively weak arm or we'd be talking about passes over 40 yards.

I'm not sure what is going on with the Moore-crush here--whether people hate Jake that much or they think this guy is a legit starter.

I know I'm going to called a hater, that's fine, at least I'm not the one man-crushing all over Moore.

I agree with you about the sample being to small. And I am not convinced that Matt is the future, although I think the possibility exist.

But do want to point out that Moore has 6 passes over 40 yards this year. Thats more than some guys who have been starters for the entire season. Its more than Matt Ryan has. Its only 5 less than Drew Brees.

Passing for 171 yards is passing all over defesnes? Has he perked the team up? I don't and YOU don't know that. The team has played well and that has helped in MATT's success not vice-versa. That's the part that is making me scratch my head. Moore comes in and the special teams play better or defense all of a sudden can stop the run? This kid is magical!!!!

This board is viral, is someone says something strongly and continuously enough, most everyone starts to believe the premise whether it has merit or not.

I guess the 7-1 td to int ratio has nothing to do with the fact that our defense is playing better. If you've already forgotten, Jake's last game was a 4 interception disaster. You're just talking out of your ass trying to find a reason to criticize those who see promise in Moore.

Agreed, no argument here.

Yes, and half of those could have easily been picks as they were underthrown and the WR hand-fought for the ball. I recall Moose long pass being accurate and one other beyond 20 yards. Outside of that, he's got issues with his long ball. He does throw a nice short ball and the reason Davidson has been calling WCO style offense (at least the passing attack) since Moore's been playing.

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
