You thought the silly monster in the comic was better? The movie ending made more sense than the comic. Allen Moore couldn't deal with the fact that Hollywood made his ending better.

the meaning was entirely different and much weaker in the film than the comic. I had no love for the monster, but they changed the implications of the event and therefor the entire story.
