What I mean to say is, how would the extension affect the trade deadlines and could this be a positive or a negative with no money restrictions?

i think it's common sense players should be payed more if they extend the regular season. take the current 16 game checks and add two more.

do you realize that 16 games a season is already brutal on players? not to mention the guys having to play in post season.. 16 games is perfect, any more than that would result in unnecessary injuries. This isn't baseball, the players can't handle it.

Basketball is pretty brutal too. Not so much the contact part, but the sheer amount of games almost back-to-back is ridiculous.

i don't think two more games would hurt anyone and a lot of teams rarely make the playoffs. Also players get injured in the preseason sometimes. In the 3rd preseason game, many teams play starters into the third quarter.

IF two more games is too much, how about one more game and a two game preseason. Or how about two more games with an additional bye week?

I should have added a whimsical icon or too bad this can't really happen for one year while our favorite team finally decides to play thier best ball when it's all for naught. Or not.
