Here's an incredible John Fox stat

very very good post. I equate what you guys are doing now to playing your last two holes in golf really really good and giving optimism even though the first 16 holes sucked. Unfortunately, all 18 holes count.

Kinda like what your team has done for 35+ years, right???

Its fine to think that, but this thread just looks like people are questioning his effort and commitment rather than his abilities as a coach. Thats just asinine whining.

SOMETHING has to explain it. You don't just barely win over half your games pre-elimination and ALL of them post-elimination by chance. 7-0 is a large enough sample size for it to be more than just coincidence.

Oh my, now you are going to claim that is statistical proof of your conspiracy theory? Someone is grasping at straws.

sometimes you HAVE to play conservatively during the season. take last week's game against the giants... would steve smith have been put in a position to catch that touchdown? no, he probably would've been pulled from the game. instead he stays in - recklessly - and breaks an arm.

smart coaches don't put marquee players in a position to get injured when they'll be needed to win the next game. i'd wager if fox had played as recklessly during the regular season as he did during those last seven games you cited, we'd have had a LOT more injuries throughout the seasons.

it's easy to point out cute statistics with your hands on your hips but there is almost always an alternative explanation. internet conspiracy theories are rarely the right answer.

1.) What the hell are you people going on about conspiracy theories before? What conspiracy theory did I suggest or theorize? Is it a "conspiracy theory" to suggest that Fox is way too conservative of a coach and that opening up the playbook seems to work wonders?

2.) What in the hell are you talking about with 89? Are you saying it was reckless to play him in a meaningless game? Or are you saying that Fox would NOT have played him if the playoffs were on the line? Please try to read what you type before hitting that "Submit Reply" button.

Here's another thought.

All of our impact players are those of who we drafted and developed. His staff single handed made our team.

Double trouble

Our offensive Line

Beason

Our role players on defense

Our role players on offense

Lloyd

Mostly Foxes staff work...

what does this have to do with anything?

To quote Herm......."you play to win the game".

Sorry but that is the most misleading/bogus stat I have seen in a while.

The simple answer is Fox is much better in Dec than the rest of the season ( 20-11 ). I don't know how, but he always has the Panther's peaking at just the right time. That also explains his success ( at least until last year ) in the post season.

what happens to him before that?
