Deangelo Williams >>>> Adrian Peterson

I for one believe that DWill is a better RB than AP. He may be a freak of nature with the size, speed and agility but Deangelo has proven he is a better overall back. If you can't protect the ball(just like a QB has too) then whats the use in being touted the "Best RB in Football" It all goes to crap when you can't hold the ball.

AP Career stats(Since 2007) 38 total games started

total yards - 4400

Avg - 4.9

TD's - 39

Fumbles - 20

Fumbles lost - 13

DW Career stats(since 2006) 31 total games started

total yards - 3850

Avg - 5.1

TD's - 30

Fumbles - 5

Fumbles lost - 4

Just sayin...;)

On a side note, the Panthers went from -14 in the turnover dept to being +3 for the year after the game against the giants. Way to secure the ball fellas

wow, have seen about 15 of these nonsense threads. ONLY PANTHERS FANS WOULD TAKE D-WILL OVER AP, who the fluck cares!

I can tell you're a very intelligent guy:rolleyes: Thanks for your positive input. I don't care if you've seen 15 of these threads but after last nights game and seeing AP pretty much lose the game for the Vikes, I found it important enough for me to start a thread about it. That is what a message board is for. And to ask, why would you want a player who can't hold onto the ball? oh, you must be a Jake Lover too, he likes to turn the ball over too.

For all of AP's greatness and he is great, he loses when he can't hold onto the ball.

With the way Stewart has played when Williams was out, some of the credit for their performance has to go to the offensive line. The Vikings offensive line looked pretty bad last night and last week, in all phases of the game.

But I do agree that at this stage of their respective careers, Williams is definitely less prone to fumble.

Fans might, but thats because they pay more attention to ESPN hype than to performance on the field. If opposing coaches or GM's had their choice, who might they take? I bet a significant percentage of them would take Williams because he holds on to the ball better.

They are both great athletes... and I haven't personally seen AP enough to say, but I know what D-Will can do.

I'm not quite sure what to make of this fumbling issue AP apparently has... PFT has an article on it now...

The fumble I saw last night was simply a good defensive play. I didn't think that he was being negligent holding the ball or anything...

I agree, that was a pretty good play by the defender. But with all the fumbles he has, he does seem to have a problem. Could be a bit mental at this point.

Yeah, I've heard all the talk about him fumbling and all... I guess it could be an issue with the way he holds/protects the ball, but sometimes guys on defense just make good plays and it's not completely the RB's fault... they are being hit by 250-300 lb guys that can run really fast.

Watch that play where J. Stewart broke like 4 tackles vs. the Giants the other night and as he's running through defenders he has both arms on the ball... maybe that's it.

The only rebuttal I would have to this is DWill gets hit by the same defenders and he does not have this problem.

AP runs too upright.

I think this is def. a part of his problem. Dwill gets lower as does Stewy and this def. helps their balance and not having to extend their arms out as much.( I know they are shorter as this helps too) Rep!!

    • I want to throw in how much easier it is for a QB to develop and improve with a good oline.  Huge credit to the front office for spending the money on our two guards.  Cade Mays also had a 2nd really good game starting at center.  Love how he has developed and hope he's the real deal. Look at what Stroud is dealing with now in Houston after injuries and problems with their oline.  Strouds accuracy has been greatly affected as it seems like he doesn't trust his protection. Canales is doing a great job developing Bryce.  I think the QB whisperer might be for real. And obviously big props to Bryce.  First round pick that looks horrible in his first year.  Different coaches and systems.  Fans and media are calling him the biggest bust in NFL history and he looked like it in the first two games this year.  Gets benched.  Young man keep his cool and just continued to work and only worry about what he can control.  I hope things continue like this and we end up with a great success story. Bryce Young kept pounding.
    • Outside of Philly (who currently is #3 in pass defense) the rest of our remaining opponents are bottom 1/3 of the League in that regard.  Let's see what Bryce can do versus bad pass Ds.
