What position should we cover first in the '10 draft?

DE. i'd rather us pick up a free agent WR with the troubles we've had drafting them.

Yes, I have no confidence that our FO can draft a WR that will have an instant impact , or any at all. We really need to pick up a couple wr's in FA. There are a some good players that will be available next season.

These players are more of a lock for instant help rather then drafting some.

I think we still need to try to deal Peppers and try to get at least another 2nd

rd pick. In the draft I think the only offensive players we need to go after is QB and TE. Rest of the picks should all be on defense.Oh...and re-sign davis!

I would draft a Defensive Tackle first, then a Wide Receiver. This class is filled with great wide outs and personally I think we can get a # 2 Wide Receiver in free agency. Maybe Steve Breaston, Jason Avant, Antonio Bryant, Kevin Walter, or Vincent Jackson [if we are are really lucky]. Defensive Tackle should be the main concern, Dan Williams from Tennessee, Marvin Austin from UNC, Arthur Jones from Syracuse, Aleric Mullins from UNC, Jared Odrick from Penn State, Vince Oghobaase from Duke, and D'Antohny Smith from Louisiana Tech would all be good fits for the Panthers. Then I would draft a Wide Out if and only if Colt McCoy is not available. McCoy is the only Quarterback I would take in this years draft, and there are plenty of good Wide Receivers that will be available in the fourth round. Mainly my man DEZMON BRISCOE from Kansas.

DT (both a UT and NT)

WR (need all roles filled after smitty)

QB (backup, developmental guy)

CB (backup, potential starter if marshal is not a long term guy)

LB (td, anderson, jonhson i think are all FA, possibly diggs too, need backup/starters)

DE (pep stays not a need, if he goes, depth, boom/bust type)

well as it stands now, i think we go wr not DT, as i dont think there will be value at the DT position because jones, cody, austin (if he come out), and williams are all off the board. i would then look at WR, which is loaded. gillyard reminds me of eddie royal. great returner, good reciever (but has a qb to show his skills off). idk if he puts down a 4.3x 40 and sick triangle numbers, but on the field he looks like he has the pull away gear and shifty moves. i would love tate, but he is likely gone. benn is a stud and i expect the combine and film from last year will show that, if he fell though, i would definately go after him before any other 2nd round wr.
