What position should we cover first in the '10 draft?

DE. i'd rather us pick up a free agent WR with the troubles we've had drafting them.

What FA has panned out? Rod Gardner? DJ Hackett? Keyshawn Johnson?

Its not the fact that WRs have come here and struggled because they are coming to Carolina. They have struggled because of Jake Delhomme.

First pick is a tough call with how Moore has been playing. I think it still should be a QB unless we can get a guy like Golden Tate. I'm not crazy about any of the DTs other than Cody and Suh.

POSSIBLE list (not necessarily realistic):

1. Ryan Mallett

2. Golden Tate

3. Terrance Cody

Those are the top 3 guys that I would want in the 2nd round that we POSSIBLY could have a shot at. At 7-9 or 8-8 we are probably looking at 46th pick or so. All 3 of those guys are likely to be gone by then...which sucks.

I don't think CB is THAT big of a need. I am pretty impressed with Munnerlynn, and I like what I have seen with Marshall in the starting role.

WR is definately the way to go with our first pick. If for some reason, we trade DWill for a top 10 pick, I would definately take Suh or Gerald McCoy out of OU.. those are monster DT's.. and those are rare to find.

I partially agree with you. I still feel that we need to draft a QB but it is no longer important to find someone that we are basically expecting to come in and start day 1. I think we need to go WR with our first pick then QB and DT with our next two. I could see picking up someone like Colt McCoy in the 3rd round. He is a guy that we wouldn't really expect to come in and win the starting job, but could possibly be THE guy in 2-3 years if Matt doesn't perform up to par.

DT and WR with our top picks. Depth at OL LB and CB in rds 4 and lower. Would like to see a good KR/PR somewhere. DE should be fine, I think Peppers signs long term. Need some better ST players(and coach). QB I honestly think we would do just as well keeping Cantwell at #3 and have a vet(Jake/McCown/Pennington)#2 so probably bring in a UDFA for practice squad.

For whatever reason, we have trouble evaluating WRs and QBs in the draft. I'd like to pick up a major FA WR, but I'd rather not draft one.

We still need a great pass rushing DT. We have plenty of beef up front, but I want more pressure. If we pay Peppers, then pair him with a better pass rushing DT than Lewis. I hated Lewis coming into this season, but now I think I was too hard on him. Even so, I'd like to pick up a better pass rusher. The more we turn up the heat with our front 4, the better our chances of winning.

Draft another big CB. Captain has done a good job, but he can't cover big WRs well. Teams will (and did) single him out and rape him with a big WR. Pitch and catch with Captain out of reach is something I never want to see again.

We need a #2 WR who is a threat to rack up yards after the catch. Moose just can't run away from DBs like he could in the past. Also, Moose is pushing off more than he did in the past. Not a good sign. Time to upgrade and give Moore a WR who can get more seperation.

Moore, Jake, McCown, Feeley, that's a pretty good compititon. I don't know that we could get our hands on another QB to come in and compete to start. Jake, the football version of 'Old Yeller', can spend next season teaching Moore all he knows. Wait... what the hell am I saying? Jake stay away from him! "Just keep staring at Smitty" *sniff* I'll do it, he was my QB. *sniff*
