The dude has been a helluva college QB, I just don't think he has the physical talent to translate. His best case scenario is carving out a career as a backup but is he really more talented than Will Grier? I don't think so and Grier is struggling mightily to hang onto an NFL career.

I think Grier was more talented.

You guys should have seen the game thread on the Notre Dame thread.  It was a complete meltdown and then the miracle happened.  Notre Dame plays at Louisville next week.  The Irish better figure it out or they're going to get beat.

ND just isn't that good and their ranking is all about the golden helmets. They should be well accustomed to that reality by this point.

It was thought that, with a new OC and the transfer of Sam Hartmann, that Notre Dame would be much better this year.  They have a good tight-end but no real playmakers at receiver.  They're a good team but not playoff caliber.  For that matter, neither are my Buckeyes.  But back to Notre Dame, they host USC in 2 weeks and later they play at Clemson.  Right now I think Notre Dame is an 8 or 9-win team.

Ohio State's #1 problem is the loss of CJ Stroud to the draft.  Our QB play is nowhere near what CJ did.  As well, our OL is not nearly as good, which isn't suprising based on the guys we lost to the NFL, including left tackle Paris Johnson, taken #6 by Arizona.

ND has never been playoff caliber. Every time they've ever made the playoffs they've gotten absolutely wrecked. But that's never mattered. Every opportunity the committee has ever had they've put them in anyway.

I hate Notre Dame as much as anyone, but saying they aren’t good or not playoff worthy is a trash take.  They had Ohio State BEAT with 1 second left in the game, just couldn’t get that stop.  If they do, everyone is talking about ND.

Opposite mojo with the Duke game today…Notre Dame was DONE if Duke converts. 4th and 16 with seconds left.

Both are good teams this year.  Sucks about Duke’s QB.

Also, #1 Georgia easily could have lost today in the final minute.

Parity is good. One play at the end can change the outcome.

Agreed. The fighting Irish are the REAL DEAL this season with a steller coaching staff led by Freeman, a leader of men.

Due to the lack of competetiveness in FBS football, we've had a lot of BAD playoff games.  There are a number of teams who have received playoff bids only to get blown out.  Ohio State was one of them in 2016, losing 31-0 to Clemson.

OSU tend to be overrated for the CFP and should just stick to the BCS. Not sure why they keep getting the best 5 star receiving recruits to commit.

If I had to pick the playoff teams right now I would seed them like this.

#1 Georgia vs. #4 Florida State

#2 Texas vs. #3 Michigan

#5 Oregon (best team in Pac12, they're next man up if one of the top-4 falters).  Washington is #6.  Penn State #7.  Ohio State #8.  Alabama #9.  USC #10.

Texas has played not 1, not 2, but 3 backup QB's the past 3 weeks.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
