Two moments that told me how much confidence the coaches had in Moore

why are you guys talking about drafting another young QB to groom?

if Moore is the guy, he's the guy. You're not going to groom a 22 year old with a 25 year old.

you don't draft another rookie in case Moore doesn't pan out. You get rid of Jake and bring in someone like Mark Redman, or Chad Pennington, or Jon Kitna. Someone that's just there to collect a pay check and share wisdom.

At some point you have to poo or get off the pot with QBs here.

I'd also like for people to pick a QB and stop talking about picking up a project QB.

Fiz, as bad as I want to cuss you out every time I read something you post.....I just want to say this.

Whether you know it or not, when you draft any player, at any position(especially in this organization)....they are pretty much all projects to an extent. Same across the board with the other 31 teams, that is why they get auditioned so to speak.

Nobody is saying "oh my God, let's get a project to groom".....they are saying let's take a shot at the best we can get, with what we have to work with.

Example.....not expected to be a project, but a complete hit.......Jarrett, Colbert....Shelton.....Weinke.....should I go on???? The list does go back way further than that, and include a few more closer to this time and date.

Quit being so negative, or get your professional level knowledge having ass out there and make a difference.

If you can't do that, then quit ripping everybody else that has suggestions you don't agree with.

Thanks.

Moore may start, but we still need to draft a young QB to groom.

that's from this very thread, a few posts above your senseless screed.

yeah this is a very impressive tautology you've managed to sketch out here which doesn't have any baring at all to what I said.

You don't have two QBs you're grooming. That's not how this process works. It's Apprentice and Sith Lord, not two Apprentices just looking poo up off the internet. The only time I can think of off the top of my head when you had two young QBs was in San Diego and that was a pretty unique situation.

I don't know what you thought I said but I don't see a single pertinent item in that thing you just typed out.

I'm not sure about his POV, but mine is that the Panthers should try to focus on seeing if Matt Moore can play out rather than trying to focus purely on a new QB, which is what it sounds like a lot of people are suggesting.

You seem pretty high on Cantwell lately. Any reason why?

i'm not really high on him, I just think it's senseless to draft a QB when you already have a young QB on the roster who's shown he can start, and a young fodder QB with a cannon arm.

It was the same reason I was against drafting a QB in 2008. It was obvious that they had a young qb with all the intangibles on the roster who could run the offense. That alone made him more valuable and promising than anyone coming out in 2008.

This right here, especially the bold.

We need to be careful not to blow our wad here. Does Moore look great right now? Yep. But people are all the sudden saying he is THE answer, and that we can now keep Fox and Hurney and that everything is a-ok. I think we need to take a step back and look at the picture as a whole first. Let's not let these two awesome games think we're suddenly the best damn team in the NFL.

As for your "moments", OP, the second is spot on. The first, IMO, is just a result of having nothing to play for, thus Fox needn't be conservative. Jake has done many a last minute drive. We know he...has been...capable.

really it seems like a lot of people on here just see Moore as a bridge QB to a "FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICK FRANCHISE QB" that there's some bizarre obsession with.

It's almost as if people are more interested in drafting a QB than just already happening to have one who is young, good, cheap, and knows the system. I mean good lord, what can Matt Moore possibly teach to a rookie from his nine games of nfl experience, and what in the world would you want jake delhomme teaching a young qb?
