To the Fox haters

You have to admit, his players don't quit on him in December. Never have. Yes, these wins are otherwise meaningless. In fact they drop the Panthers further down on Draft Day. But they show you his players still respect the man.

XClown

That respect will be the only thing that saves his job. And 2009 will be a Superbowl win or bust for Fox and any future of him being the coach after...

That's what's disappointing, to see the team playing this good now b/c Moore is in there, and knowing that if he was in there after week 1 we would be battling for the top 3 seeds in the NFC... That is what sticks with me more than meaningless wins.

His decisions led directly to our losing this year. Part of me started thinking it wouldn't be so bad if he stayed next year after seeing these last two games, but then I realize that's what I think at the end of every year. Next year comes and I'm disappointed (every other year).

So no, I don't want this inconsistency anymore. And then they come out with that BS press conference for Jake just to let everyone know they'll be shoving him back in our face next year... No thanks. I think he'll be better wherever he coaches next because he should learn from his mistakes.

The question now is, look at what is available - Shanahan, Cowher, Schottenheimer, etc. vs. Fox. You have to ask, is Fox a better coach than any of these guys? No. Time to make a move.

Since the Panthers have been eliminated from playoff contention, they've looked like the best team in the NFC. ...Uh, Yea, you go Fox, where the fug was all this newfound preparedness on gameday when we were still in the hunt? It was nowhere to be found. Not to speak bad about the two wins we've gotten, I enjoyed every single minute of them, but it's too little, too late.

it seems like some people are forgetting how inept the team looked the first 13 games overall, and are falling for Fox's late season strategy of snaking his way into the next year without bearing a heap of criticism on his shoulders:

Somehow got your inept starting QB on the bench without actually having to bench him or admitting your error in judgment with that atrocious contract extension last spring? Check.

Padded the Injured Reserve list to make it look like you struggled a lot more with injuries than you really did? Check.

End the season on a high note with more wins than losses? Check.

Finish the season with a "convincing" win to produce optimism for the coming year against a team that's already clinched and resting most of their starters? Well, this is all they really need to do, if Minnesota loses tomorrow night, Chicago basically clinching first seed for the Saints, or if the Saints don't give a poo about homefield throughout, John Fox has a golden opportunity to finally reach .500 in winning percentage which hasn't happened yet this season, especially against a division rival which happens to be one of the top teams this year.

Because that's all Fox really needs to do to please the carolina fanbase, he only needs to remind us he can do a good job once in a while, without actually making any real progress.

What players could have and would have made sence to keep on the active roster that Fox instead put on IR?

Yeah, but Id argue its because better QB= better executtion. Not that players are playing harder simply for a different guy.

Smith is. That guy was one or two games away from hitting someone and getting suspended (again). He's playing harder and running through his routes.

Offensive line is player harder/better now with Moore and they're down to backups at both tackle spots.
